The fact. Maybe if half of you on here didn't worry about strips and colurs(oh my that doesn't match),the crowd, and how other teams perform and concentrated on your own game than you would have something good to say or brag about until then maybe some more practice and less glasses of wine and tea parties

Back to the soccer. The bottom 4 play the top 4 this weekend with all the home teams being the bottom 4. Would be interesting if all home sides got up. Im sure Tenambit and Medowie will be confident after first up wins last week and Uni are always strong at home. As for Merewether v Mbrook well i suppose the football gods will have to shine on the Wethers to get the 3 pts. Good luck to all this weekend.

Any chance of getting a kick at University on the weekend? I remember from years ago it was one that would be quite easily called off but can't remember in recent years. Cheers

How is the weather looking down that way? Pretty miserable at Mussy! Super keen to get a game in this weekend but, especially having had the bye last round.

we had a pretty large downfall of rain about an hour ago, still very grey here at uni.
surely the ground isnt that bad that half a days rain will cause them to call off a game 2 days beforehand?

Ive got an email saying that the Beryl Humble ground is closed for the weekend. Im assuming that means our game is called off.
    can sharky confirm?

Play for Tenambit and can confirm that Maitland Council has closed our ground and many other Maitland Council grounds for the whole weekend.

Jesmond park - Merewether v Mbrook tomorrow still on at this stage. Further inspection at 8.30am. If no further rain should be on.

Game OFF at jesmond park. The rain overnight didnt help. The water isnt draining and several puddles are present. Sorry Mbrook for getting ya hopes up last night, if it didnt rain again overnight we definately would of been on.

Anyone from medowie on here? Game off or on?
The medowie website says ground open, but it doesnt say when it was last updated.
I, of course, cannot call the hotline from my mobile as its a 1900 number.
When I grow up, I want to be Yohan Cabaye.

    Uni v Jesmond.

Good one to get out of the way with the rest of the round unable to play. Great pitch at Uni, I'd say one of the best around.

Reggies 3-2 to Uni. First goal was cleared by last man chasing back (not very quickly) but ball didn't even get near goal line let alone over it, over only for linesman to flag and inform referee to award goal. Ref needed to go on the info given so no complaints with him, thought was quite good actually. Uni striker even left amazed at what transpired though. They then got another from a 'keeper mistake which is his only of the year and then a 3rd from a neat finish from just outside the box when we lacked urgency to get to a partially cleared ball. Rams got 2 back in 2nd half and had chances to score another but not to be. Pretty good effort considering injuries and numbers for the game, we ended with goal keeper on the pitch and first grade stopper in goals. Our club president at 50 years of age and no real playing background had to play most of the game and did pretty well. No complaints though, every club will go through similar throughout the year.

1sts a win to Jesmond 2-0. A deserved win that could have and perhaps should have seen a bigger scoreline if it were not for some wasteful finishing and great goalkeeping at both ends. We took the lead from a free kick smartly tapped home and then a great run down the left saw our striker leaving 3 Uni players for dead and squaring up for another neat finish from a midfielder. That was the score at half time and we dug in to keep it that way.

The quicker Uni get their starting reggies striker into firsts the better for them because he's a good player. It's only what I overheard but makes sense if he has just come become available for whatever reason. Very dangerous in reggies and again when came on in firsts, although was against our tiring defenders.

Again, glad to play and bring on next weeks bye so we can hopefully get these injuries sorted out. Rest of comp keep the tackles flying and go hard next weekend! Haha
