Don't know about that being entirely true. Some first class ****wits in their squad starting with the captain

Ridiculous discussion. Newy boys have in general been brilliant since the start of the A-League (when they've got a look-in). Jobe, Reegz, Virgili, BK, Hoole, Kanta, even flaming Gallaway delivered for us last season. How many locals have been given a serious go and not delivered for the team? I can only think of that cocknose Hoffman, but even he was rated by Heart.

Add to this list all the passionate players from outside of the area who love/loved the club: Labi, Vigs, Bridges (in derbies), Tarek, Griff, Ljubes, Ruben and so on. Some of these guys have been replaced because they were seemingly not good enough, but have the subsequent replacements ever been better? All we've gotten are players of about the same skill, with less passion for the club.

I'd strongly argue that they weren't even the same skill level, the table never lies, we are going backwards under GVE.

Word I'm reading elsewhere says taggart has been offered trials in the eredivisie, bundesliga 2 and various leagues of England but has declined the offers to spend one more year in the hal to get definite game time. seems odd he wouldn't even go trial. If it worked out they could have done a buy and loan back deal like amini had done

Interesting if true. He's still yet to actually get any consistent game time at a professional level so it would be strange for him to move to Europe at this stage.

Regarding a loan deal, might have been an option for cashed up Dortmund, but probably not as worthwhile for a team in the lower half of the eredivisie or bundesliga 2.

Pfffft, with Middlebys track record he'll probably pay for another club to take Taggz, then organize a loan deal back to the Gypos.

Either that or let him rot under GVE for another year.

Either way the kid is screwed.

Hey, look at that! Jason Culina is a free agent. What a shame he is over 22.

Not sure where to put this... but Taggart tearing it up for the U20 against New Zealand. Two goals in opening 20 minutes or something. One with his left foot, the other a curling right footer from outside the box.

Nope. Being played down in Wollongong, friendly game. Just reading updates on twitter.

2-0 at HT, Taggart with both. Connor Pain and Antonis with the assists. Antonis injured just before HT as well.

reports from a mate at the game is good & chapman are absolutely running the show in defence. brillante has just (at half time) been moved to cm from i think rb, and hoole is out there also (i assume right mid).

Watch GVE use the "they got burnt out on rep. duties" excuse about four weeks into the season.

Do you really think he will still be in charge 4 weeks into the season??

I see a Lord Griffo Hatty in Rd 1 seeing us go down.
I see us again getting rolled at home by Perth in Rd 2 as per usual
I see us being 3-4 down at HT in the F3 derby at Stade de Newy and the fans rioting. GVE sacked Monday morning after a 5-1 loss.

    Bloke won't last that long
