you have a fair point, poor coaching is certainly the redbacks down fall. Thomson needs to lace up the boots more often and get on the pitch. The way he can thread a ball is truelly insperational for all up and coming redbacks ! i am interested for when the redbacks clash with the hornets soon. it will be good to see if Thomson is on the field, and if so, to see if he can tear the defence line of Rossi and Sams apart. cheers soccer lover
Everybody clearly missed my point, if you read my NEXT post i said that i was talking about all teams. This years teams throughout the 19s aren't as high quality as last year. Maitland is hammering everyone much more than last year because generally the teams have dropped off in skill. Especially since people think last years maitland 19s were better than this years.
I was at the Thornton vs cessnock game in round 1 and Thornton had lack of experience to find the net yet missing the post by a millimetre 2 or three times and cessnocks stocky defender clearing a ball of the line so the next game could go either way if the inexperienced Thornton coach plays young Thompson in the starting line up. I have previously played at this club and live in the area and the culture seems to be contagious through out the grades as the whole Thornton club are gelled together nicely.#gomanyou #redbacksruleall any thoughts on why the you magpies side is doing so well socerlover
i believe its because of the vibe rolling around the club, when i was there on sunday, everyone looked to be having a good time, including commitee, not to mention the form of some of the players. The taller of the two strikers (the boy of king?) is doing a sensational job putting them into the back of the net. But also, the magpies midfield line of power and kmetyk are doing a sensational job of playing balls into strikers feet, with the other striker holding the ball up well for king. It will be interesting to watch the pies next time against the redbacks, i believe from a redbacks point of view, it will be ALOT closer of a match up, especially if the coach comes to his senses and give young Thomson a run, cheers soccer lover
So I get the feeling we want young Thomson off the bench
I hope he likes prison food.......and penis
Yeah Mr Thomson does seem upset about his son being on the bench.
Agreed socerlover I am also confused that magpies young coach has not been starting a key winger that has scored many goals this season I'm not sure of his name but his brother plays for Thornton 23s I think is Elliot or Ely or something like that anyway this young player has scored some outstanding goals this season and has been benched for some new unneeded recruits for the young maitland side now consisting of 16 or 17 players ,not sure what's going through the coaches head when they have only dropped 3 points all season #thompson to start on Sunday
Well, I generally fly in for the start of 19's and "SWAN" around until 1st grade finishes. I've seen all teams (Maitland/Cessnock/Thornton) on 2 occasions each so far this season and I think that that Maitland are the best squad by a "long shot". They appear well coached, are mobile and also physical - when needed. They are the team to beat OMHO (as a bird).
This will cause a smile or two I'm sure for some of the older heads around ..... can anyone guess which first grade coach addressed his U19's very recently to inform them it was compulsory to attend, to not watch their 23's and First grade play a washout round, but to be their BALL BOYS...... that was one thing but then to expect them to be standing around on a cold wet evening in nothing other than their training gear took the ridicule to a new level.
I mean seriously... 19's as ball boys is insulting them, esp when they are not even playing that night but then to demand they do it in the rain with a training top on and nothing covering it. Do some clubs actually realise the level of football they are in? It is really so shaming that in a mind week evening washout game first grade players should fetch their ball??? LOL
I'm going for 4 home wins in the NEWFM this week:
Singleton
Adamstown
Toronto
Thornton
