Back in the KB days the club started with the emerald and cinnamon first strip. Eventually, because the players felt it was lucky, and with a little help from the sponsors, the gold away strip became the full time kit of preference.

Maybe it could happen again with enough public support - I still can't hack this red and blue shit !

So how did you cope all those years when we were the Breakers and then Cons Newcastle United in the NSL?? Both teams plsyed in red and blue

Newy teams may have changed colours a few times but we have been in the blue and red now for the majority of them in one form or another

I hated our Breakers colours too, especially as they said it was to align ourselves with the Knights - no other bona fide reason.

No Newcastle team was those colours from the 19th century up until the Breakers formed - tis an old argument.

Red and blue was always the Newcastle league rep colours - that's probably why I really took to the gold.

Only person who should be seen in green and brown is Arthur Daley

Agreed, just because an idea stuck around doesn't mean it was good.

    No.

E&C has links to men from newy who fought for the freedom we enjoy today.

Red and blue has links to a sport played by those who abuse that freedom.

gee, they really look enthusiastic don't they.

guess they should look bored in a strip like that. it looks like they've just put two shirts on, one with a lower neckline and shorter sleeves.

You mean the AIF back in 1915?

    I'd not think so.

Already happened. No longer 3, but 5 stripes I believe - and a fully blue back.
