@ Ranger if by chance you genuinely don't know the quote, it was said by Bill Shankly (former Liverpool F.C manager) there is confusion as to when he first said it but most people will refer to when he said it in response to a report that ask him about how some people see football as a matter of life and death. As to the man himself he is probably the single biggest figure of LFC history and the famous gates you walk threw to get into Anfield and are prominent on mondern day LFC crest are called the Shankly gates as you walk into Anfield the 1st thing you see is a massive bronze statue of the man himself.
