WTF???? Well instead of saying how "off" Maitland were and how they were missing players, just say they were beaten by the better team on the day who also missed a lot of chances and also had two regular 1st graders not playing!

one of those fletcher boys I think with about 10 minutes left. Have to say 2nd yellow was "soft" and probably wouldn't have received it if the ref had realised he was already on one.

Can't see it's possible, given Adamstown's run home for the remainder of the comp.
    looks most likely to be
    1 A-damstown
2,3 Maitland or Belswans (should be a great battle)
4,5 Trono or westy or thornton (Toss a coin)
    then every body else.

Personally I'd love to see Belswans win it, though I doubt they'd want promotion??
The irony would be that that could save CCPhoenix

C'mon... don't start that "in the nest with phoenix" stuff again please.
I'd hate the conspiracy theorists out there proposing that the only reason the BelSWANS are in the comp is for Phoenix to avoid NBN relegation.

Wasn't meant to sound like that at all mate. Point I was making was that Belswans actually represent the area of eastern lake mac whilst Phoenix don't. No conspiracy intended.

BTW I reckon Belswans would wipe Phoenix in a game

Magpies - A tough and hard breed.
Swans - A regal and "majestic" bird!
**** this thread was boring before "the bird man" joined in.

Redback_ dangerous creature which abodes toilet seats at night.
Stags - Either highly attractive male strippers or horny fury animal killed by Robert De Niro in Deer Hunter
Bluebells- potential deodorant (with no aluminium solphate) spreads wildy untill the council mows the pitch.
Hornet- black and yellow buzzing thing that annoys people trying to mow their lawns.
Strikers- people who refuse to work
Rosebuds- cheap beer-drinking woman (with no wisdom)

Were you there at the game?? Well if you were you could clearly see that Maitland were the better team but didn't take their chances and had a ref who clearly had no clue what was going on and was on a power trip. Yea Belswans won but it was no indication of the game.

    Continuing on :
19s-pretty one way for Maitland, Belswans didn't look like scoring. Maitland could have scored more just seemed a little off game today. Coach is doing pretty good with that side. Ref was another female, never seen before but did well for a cruisy game.
23's- both teams put in a good effort. Matland had most of the posession and played it around the park well. Belswans obviously frustrated at times but did well playing the ball but it broke down in the final third. Rahli (seeing Sancho has a problem with 'eye -candy) was hands down ref of the day and the best I've seen this season with her calls.
1st-good game to watch despite the rain in the 23s game taking some toll on the field. Quite physical but both teams played hard. Maitland had majority of possession just couldn't capitalise. Belswans played the ball around and both goals probably should have been saved, obviously Maitland's keeper was having an off day. Ref didn't have much control considering how much he blew the whistle. Don't understand why so many of these refs ignore their ARs though, disappointing to see. The ignored call on a penalty could have changed the game.

Are you on that "one-eyed weed" or what!
BelSWANS up 2-0 at H/T and deservered to be so. Maitland had more control in the 2nd half and came back into the game. As for the so called penalty..... Maitland would have been blowing up deluxe if that was given against them. - no penalty. Maybe she was "influenced" by some obvious silly comments from the paroquial Maitland crowd at that end of the ground.

Blame your keeper for two well slotted goals if you want.

As for saying Maitland were the better team....hahaha. I didn't hear any reports last round from "Maitland forumers" about "stealing" 3 points at Blacksmiths when some may say they didn't deserve it!
Maybe you guys are a little "shell-shocked" from the events of the last week and the two loses - which I can understand but, everyone has to come to terms with loosing at some point of the season!

I've been howled down recently by sanch_theswan for the "speculation" about the much talked about Belswans & VPFC merger but the rumours I'm hearing are getting stronger by the day. My beloved Magic had their game called off so I ventured up to Maitland to watch the game and noticed a VPFC Official at the game. Is the take over getting closer?

I've got to side somewhat with Winner1 on his match report, Belswans fought hard and looked like they wanted the win more against a flat looking Maitland side but I can't see them toppling Adamstown. Maitland should have taken the 3 points but some poor finishing, strong and desperate defending by Belswans kept them out.

Belswans goals were well taken though with the chipped goal first and a perfectly placed 2nd goal across the keeper, who I must should have saved.

Maitland were very unlucky yesterday and deserved 3 points.
Lets be honest Belswans are an awful footballing team and it would be an embarrassment to soccer in Newcastle if they got promoted.
