He's about 12 months older than Chris 'el saviour' Rogers.
He is playing county cricket in England as we speak. Yesterday he had just posted another century against the same bowling attacks that Rogers was praised for getting runs on.
No I'm not taking the piss.
Bloke can bat, and has been shafted for nothing more than a personality clash. Even the great Aussie teams had blokes that couldn't stand each other (warne/s.waugh, gilchrist/warne) but blokes were picked on merit.
We used to win a bit back then.
It's always astounded me when coaches/authority figures get too cute for their own good and don't do the bleeding obvious and pick the best team.
Maybe I'm missing something.
Katich is a wasted talent because of this crap.
Bringing Haddin back was a good move though. When I saw this I thought perhaps they might realise they also ****ed up punting Katich but obviously not...
Oh yeah, Katich is about the same age as Haddin.
Thanks for reminding me SH10.
Trott: 32.
Pietersen: 33.
Swann: 34.
Still going ok.
The Sheffield Shield is there for development, not an Ashes series.
Just pick the best ****ern team it's not that hard innit?
Katich ain't gonna get arthritis and keel over in the next 12 weeks is he?
Also, you can't make the cricket/soccer comparison. Players in each sport hit their peaks at way different times.
Socceroos pick the best team for the World Cup, we should be doing the same for the Ashes.
I agree he was poorly treated and should never have been put out of the team. If he was never dropped he would be there still. But to say he should be back in there now, in my opinion, is crazy. (along with the selection of rogers and especially cowan)
The whole argument of "he plays and scores runs in county cricket" has been proven time and time again to mean sweet F A!
Look at how many runs all of our batsmen were scoring in lead up games
WE DON'T DO WALKING AWAY !
If the weather stays warm /steamy the poms to clean up the pretenders in the morning session
sorry. my fault. was watching the tour de france replay, flick over and say "oh, they haven't lost a wicket". as i finish saying it, anderson gets smith. then haddin goes. then siddle.
mea culpa.
EDIT: then starc. but i'm not taking the blame for that one. we're screwed.
god, just saw the batting card.
agar: "who's this pie chucker that everyone's afraid of? was his name duck? goose?"
(by the way, agar's nickname in the team better be "gel" or "seaweed")
makes up for rogers not being out then i guess. for what it's worth, i think on the balance of probabilities he was out, but benefit of the doubt and all that, so he wasn't out.
wonder how long (if ever) it's been since a number 11 scored a 50 on debut and top scored.
this dude's carving them up. what an effort.
yep, highest score by an 11 ever (previous 91 by some West Indian lad).
bugger he holed out though.
Clearly belchado's fault.
Hi Guys.
Just reminding you that I'm the last Australian to make a century on debut.
Thanks.
