the selection of hosts is done earlier in the year and is based on facilities
I thought that which ever team was 1st at the half way mark than the association that the team was in hosted the grand final.
So if Warners bay was leading the 15a's than the 15a's grand final will be held by a Macquarie club.
If maitland was leading than it would be held by a hunter valley club.. Etc etc

ok some homework for you lazy forumites:

    - go back to the ladders from halfwaythrough the season and work out if this theory that the leaders halfway through are the finals hosts
    - go and look who has the fewest goals against and report back here
    - go and look who has the most goals for and report back here
    - go and see which team has accumulated the most points

    off you go then

Does it all really matter, its not like anyone gets a home ground advantage. As long as the lights are better than our ground, I am happy.

    Bring on friday night.

Anyone know what happened to the Magic player tonight against Westy in O/35 A grade at Valentine? Pretty much the entire first half was abandoned while waiting for an ambulance. Westy ended up winning 2-0.

Never good seeing an ambulance on the pitch and I hope whoever it was isn't having too rough a time.

We were on the adjacent field and got up 4-1 in penalties over Thornton (1-1 at full time and extra time).

Really enjoyable game in All Age M Grade between Cooks Hill and Mayfield.

Mayfield took the lead 3 times, with their first in particular a very tidy finish. But each time they took the lead, Cookers bounced back to equalise shortly after.

The result was sealed for Cooks Hill with a 4th 3 minutes from time.

Very entertaining game, played in great spirit. All 3 games against Mayfield have been good, clean, well contested matches.

    Cooks play Azzurri next week.

After going through the whole regular season undefeated in AA/P Lake Macquarie finally lost a game, going down to Azzurri 4-1. In fairness, Azzurri were all over us and deserved to go straight through to the GF.

Big game against West Wallsend next weekend, hopefully we get back to winning ways as it would be a bloody shame to choke now after such a brilliant season.

Azzurri v Valentine in All Age N at Edgy was a interesting game.
A Bizarre Clearance from half-way from a Valentine Defender caused the ball to bounce just before the keeper, causing the keeper into confusion which led to him taking the ball over the goal-line putting Valentine up 2-1, then Azzuri scored with 5 mins to go.
Tight Game in the Extra-time which then led to penalties, Valentine getting up 3-1 with some brilliant saves from their Keeper!

Valentine looked really tight, probably shouldn't be in that grade, but a very interesting game.

Kingfishers went down 4-3 to magic on penalties last night in O35 A's.

Westy v Magic final next week.

Stoked to finish third this year, but gutted in the way we went out.

Cooks Hill A/A M Grade lost 2-1 with 10 seconds to go in extra time against Azzuri today.

Was a really tight match with both teams defending well.

Overall it was a good season for the team

2-0 win to Lakes over West Wallsend yesterday, including a goal scored directly off a corner.

Grand Final next Sunday against Azzurri.

Good to see cheating is alive and well in All Age. But for all games why do it in a GF and play under assumed name. Especially when your brother previously played with your opposition...

Strange game, but somehow Lakes went down to Azzurri 2-1 in the AA/P grand final. An own goal early on put us behind 1-0, and then after going the whole season without giving away a penalty we managed to concede two. They were vey soft and I think a case of the referee wanting to be the centre of attention, especially the last one (shielding the ball FFS). I saved the first one, but couldn't do the same with second and that was the winner.

Disappointing for us as Azzurri only had one actual shot on target all game, while we knocked on the door all game and the ball just wouldn't go in. That's football though!

AAJ Hamilton Azzurri vs Adamstown. We were up 1-0 till the dying minutes when Adamstown cruelly equalised. Class prevailed in extra time azzurri coming out eventual 3-1 winners.
