My opinion on the matter was that i was excited to watch 11 Maitland players play 11 Adamstown players and overall it was a sad ending for the rivalry they've had this season.

Pretty sure the game was 2-1 so how do you end up with five goals.

First One to Maitland Bullshit two blokes tripped over one another accidently and no way a red
Second One to Adamstown Fair enough.Keeper came out of the box was late and missed the ball and got the man
Third One to Adamstown does anyone know what for?? Two blokes come together and one stayed down. Linesman said nothing ref said nothing and Maitland said nothing. Ball goes out of play. Ref calls a halt to check on players welfare and the ref consults linesman and all of a sudden it is a red. WTF?? If it is a red card the linesman waves flag straight away for the foul
Fourth one to Adamstown by this stage why the **** not!!!

Neither team deserved to win. Maitland can't beat let alone hammer back a 9 man side for the best part of 60 mins and Adamstown for the first red card. 1-0 Up opponent down to 10 men and they have 4 at the back V 1 the 1 gets away and the keeper comes charging out into no mans land and hacks him down. DUMB ****S

That would have to be one of the worst games of Football i have seen for many a while. Other than the idiot with the whistle making a spectacle of himself both teams were poor. Anyone who wants a 10-12 team NBN League has rocks in their heads.

Winning goal came off about 4 richochets in the 6 yard box with the bloke who scored it having NFI what happened and the ball only trickling over the line cause of the downhill slope from the 6 yard box to goal line.

A fitting goal for such a poor game between 2 sides who neither deserved to win
It was a grand final, these games are always a more physical style rather than great football as it's a win at all cost game. The ref stuffed the game when he sent Fletcher off for what has to be the softest send off in a grand final I've ever seen. Carter should have been sent but the others send off were iffy also. I think Adamstown looked the hungrier for the game from the kick off and deserved the win.

I find it hard to understand how you can have such strong opinions of both clubs from a game like this? The ref spoilt the game as a contest.

Maitland loosing 2 of their best to injury prior to half time also stung them. Broadley looked like he may have broke his leg in the challenge with Carter and Humble blew his knee apart and did his ACL along with a few other things also.

Except Humble was out partying at King Street that night, bustin' a solid move on the dance floor I might add.

How can people be saying that Maitland deserved to win? They played the vast majority of the game with an extra man and not once in that time were they really pushing for the result. Even with 10v9 and the score at 2-1, A-town's back four had all the time in the world to 'do a Newcastle Jets' and knock it sideways and backwards (if the Jets were to ever be leading, that is).

Read my post again and notice I said Adamstown deserved the win.

What a pile of rubbish , its amazing what you read on here Ha Ha

The club and all the players love the 23s coach (as they did chappy) from last year at the buds and for your information I got informed he resigned from his post to allow the new senior management to pick their own coaching staff which i would assume was a very difficult decision for him.

Meet Graham Law (23s coach) on many occasions over last few years and the young guy breaths football and anyone that watched his team over last two years or watched his sessions will know he can coach as well.

Have no idea if he has somewhere to go but I would be surprised if he has no offers and as for Chappy not taking him ....??? how can anyone on here confirm that unless you are chappy...?

Back to the buds and I am devastated that the coaching staff from last year are gone ... Puts real pressure on the new guys coming in thats for sure but they both have bags of experience so hopefully it will still be onwards and upwards for the buds

Hopefully Anthony Richards brings a few of the top players across from Maitland as there are a few gems in that team that would compliment the great team we already have

I would be surprised at that as he was asked by the committee to apply for the head coach job and declined the opportunity. He is only a young coach and as much as he was highly respected at the club I would have been amazed if the club had hired him as NBN head coach in the clubs first year back in comp.

The view from within the club though is that he will be a head coach in the near future but not ready for NBN.

I think the club have made a good appointment with Anthony and his experience will be vital next year.

Top four finish for the buds next year :-) ...

If Richo can coax a few of the quality Maitland boys to come with the team could well be a very strong one. Richo's Maitland team played a very different style of football to Chappys Atown this year so its hard to call how the Atown boys that get kept around will handle the new coaching style. Any word on the 22s coach for Atown?

None of the Maitland boys will move. Even to play in NBN, the quality boys are loyal to the club.

I sure love this forum , earlier on in the season I was chappy , then I was someone else and now I am the 23s coach .

So next year when I am behind the buds I will be Richo no doubt

Keep it coming detective .. It's already well known who I am and not exactly hard to work out and if you were a regular poster you may know rather than someone looking to ruffle a feather or two ... Keep walking

    Come on the buds
