why does it never surprise me when man united get what seems to be the crusiest group of them all?
mon citeh, fly through the group of death!
btw can someone explain how the groups are picked? i would have thought it was seeded like the world cup. my calculations tell me city won the epl, madrid won la liga, dortmund won the bundesliga & ajax won the eredivise. doesn't seem overly seeded to me.
OK
the seedings are based on UEFA club coefficients
details here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_cl...ub_coefficient
imagine how Ajax supporters are feeling about this draw
liverpool are rated better than a whole bunch of teams actually in the competition, and ones who have actually competed in the competition for the last couple of seasons.
i get it, it's uefa and not just champs league (but i expect this comment only from pool supporters).
OK
If it is based on the last 2 years, then the ranking system is flawed. Liverpool should not be classed higher than Man City. Even then, 17 is too high at the moment in my opinion.
I wonder what time frame this is based on. I know it has the last 5 years so I assume that is taken into consideration.

from the wikipedia link "The club coefficient is the sum of the points earned by the club over the five seasons plus 20% of the club's association coefficient"
"results of clubs in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League"
maybe people should read the link before reacting
quarters in 07-08 uefa cup, ro32 in 08-09 uefa cup, did they play in europ 09-10?, quarters of champs in 10-11, not out of europa group stage in 11-12. so the best they've done in champs league is quarters, and they've only featured in champs league once. plus they've done not too much in uefa/europa league to talk about.
plus they've scraped europe-qualifying positions in their association league, as you've pointed out, for years.
i guess that's why they're not in the top 25 uefa-tournaments-ranked-teams.
OK
i'm also assuming most, if not all, of the teams in the top 25 uefa teams have won, if not featured in the top 2-3 of their respective leagues at least once. which, correct me if i'm wrong, hotsperms have nae done in a time that took colour photographs.
OK
it's going to be tremendous to watch real dismantle city
i feel sorry for dortmund. ajax were probably going to struggle to get out of most groups to be honest but they'd obviously be gutted with this draw.
