My name is Carolina and I'm a recreation center counselor.
The recreation centre animator takes care of children during the school holiday periods scheduled throughout the year. He also intervenes during the summer to propose activities and group outings. His/her role is to vary the leisure activities by developing each child's abilities. Artistic compositions, crafts, sports and cooperative games are therefore part of the proposals made by this children's professional. During the school holidays, children are enrolled on a daily basis and over a fairly long period of time, so the leisure centre activity leader must set up a programme to ensure their well-being with snacks and balanced meals. Entertainment must also have a specific purpose at the end of the period, such as a show, party or family gathering. Some recreation centres also organize themed holidays that may correspond to the children's tastes.
