This gripe might have some logic behind it at which point it might not grind my gears...
What exactly is the Sandgate bypass thing meant to achieve? All it appears to be doing to my untrained town planning eyes is moving a shitty horrendous intersection a kilometre further up the road instead of it's current location right next to the cemetery.
Am I missing something?

funding came for the expressway, the state had to stump up a little to help the supporting roads, they decided to spend the absolute minimum they had to in Newcastle, because this is the way we get treated because people around here are idiots who put up with it
