Proven Bundesliga and Eredivise defender Matthieu Delpierre signs with Victory.
Has to be said Victory are putting together a pretty tidy squad. Berisha, Milligan, Valeri & Finkler their going to be hard to beat IMO.

I cannot believe we are actually forming a decent squad and have a manager that had a plan and bought in quality players to carry out that plan, 2 players for every position.

I am loving these signings. We have a number of quality players in the squad now. Best since season 2/3.

good to see the club fully back big phil with these signings, letting zadkovich, chapman and caravella go were big calls for a new man but had to be done.

cutting the mediocrity and bringing in decent "proven" players.

My only concern about Paartalu is he's known to shop himself around, in particular wanting to go to the CSL when playing in the A-League, and then wanting to go to J-league when he was in China.
He probably sees Newcastle as a club that won't stand in his way if a J-League offer comes mid season.

I wonder if he will be the Australian Marquee ?

At least we don't look like contenders for the wooden spoon anymore.

Paartalu will bring the best of Kanta who won't give up this position without a fight.

I wouldn't be disappointed if Paartalu starts off the bench tbh.

Atleast if he is shopping himself around, he has to be playing well for anyone to look at him.
I hope he can perform at a level which attracts interest from elsewhere!

Could play with 2x holding midfielders. Maybe Paartalu is allowed to get forward more within that role, Kanta as the anchor. Just a thought

With Steele on the wing and Carney at left back. That would work

We will have some decent depth to give us tactical flexibility
