I find it interesting when considering the Guardiola appointment.

I reckon Fergie has known a while that he was going to retire. Guardiola - was he considered? Approached? Or has he found out he's not getting it and then left for Bayern?

Moyes may struggle to attract the big names, but is more likely to go to Ferguson and accept his advice. Guardiola, and even Mourinho for that matter, I'd consider to be the polar opposite.

They've made this call for a reason and they got their man!

Also, Fergie sticking around could create a problem Liverpool had when Shankly stepped down. Shanks remained around the ground which undermined Paisley's management. Hence why Shanks was asked to stop showing up.

I see potential for this to occur and needs to be managed.

    Not a great result today.
Still, once they sign a manager they might get better.

Terrible game. United are not looking good at all. Not sure if it is the Fact that Moyes is not Fergie or if his team selection is always wrong. there seems to be no bite (not Surez like) from the front third and better possession from the middle. Rooney still killing it though.

Who would have thought he'd be the best on the Park under Moyes!

team selection was wrong, again. city just plain killed us and deserved the win.

playing at the etihad we should have played with 3 central midfielders and just had Rooney on his own up top with RvP out. Young is a ****ing joke and how he keeps getting picked ahead of Kagawa and Nani is beyond me.

Pretty sure over the last few years many, many people have commented about the averageness of the utd squad and praised Fergies ability to get the best out of what he had. Maybe we're finally seeing some proof of that argument?
