Bit different for you lot, seem to only like old metal around here.

For those that don't mind checking other stuff out I present Nicholas Jaar's essential mix.
Used to listen to EM's a fair bit a few years ago and recently decided to check out some, this one was EM of 2012.

Chilled out mix with plenty of touches of orchestral, piano, some jazz stuff.
Opens with a great Twin Peaks gem.

It's going to be fighting Trentemoller for my new favourite chilled out mix.

Ahhh man.. I would like to get there, but my optimism for the Jets season hasn't been shattered just yet, so I'll be watching that... (I am sure that the usual soul-crushing disappointment will be quick to settle in after a few games with GVE still there)

Oh yeah, I saw NIN with Queens Of The Stone Age has finally been announced, with Newcastle getting a show on March 8!

Wish I had gone to Devy instead of watching that drivel.

So Soundwave second release line up Pennywise, Less than Jake, Stiff Little fingers and THE PORKERS!!!!!!!!, going to be a great day! I hope there's not too much crossover for these bands though. Likely they'll all be in the same area though.

New Jake bug comes out this weekend, and Just ordered the new Less than Jake album! See the Light. Haven't heard anything bad about it yet.

Yep! Have never really gotten into NIN (not that I dislike them, just never given them a good run) but love Qotsa.

Anyone else vote in the hottest 100? My listening year has been pretty dreadful compared to normal - haven't been to any gigs & have listened to more mainstream or classical stuff for some reason. But I voted:
Stonefield - Put Your Curse On Me
    Birds of Tokyo - Lanterns
    Kanye West - Bound 2
    Daft Punk - Get Lucky
    Daft Punk - Instant Crush
    Vance Joy - Riptide
    Saskwatch - Hands
    Lorde - Royals
    Jake Bugg - Slumville Sunrise
Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know?
    OK

    Heard the Crizzly Remix?

Also, give this a whir if you haven't already heard it - reckon you'll love it (Scroobius Pip - Introdiction):
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_Gh8TWpQE8

    ***

Chrome Sparks - Marijuana (Ace song, name detracts from it)
    Arcade Fire - Reflektor
Flume & Chet Faker - Drop The Game
Tycho - Awake (All Tycho's sh!t sounds amazing [and similar] - A Walk [from 2011?] is the best so far imo)
Daft Punk - Get Lucky (If only because it led to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cs6r6Ud0GGU Kissinger )
    Vance Joy - Riptide
Disclosure - F For You (Cannot believe they produced the 'Fire Starts to Burn' abomination)
Mat Zo & Porter Robinson - Easy
Dustin Tebbut - Where I Find You
Martin Garrix - Animals (What a club song!)

Hope Get Lucky goes #1. Also hope this guy updates his website:

Also liked (from the JJJ list):

    Lorde - Royals
Bonobo - Cirrus (First found this due to the awesomeness of the film clip)
Lemaitre - Continuum (Cut to Black sh!ts all over it)
Tkay Maidza - Brontosaurus (King St!!)
MO - Never Wanna Know (Waste of Time sh!ts all over it)
James Blake - Retrograde (Overgrown was a step backwards for James Blake, mostly everything sounded like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yy_oX6SURRE)
JAY Z {Ft. Frank Ocean} - Oceans (Half the song is great [the first bloke that sings], the other half is terrabad)

    it's still at ivy though

best thing i've ever seen anyone do at a gig bar that dude having a pull at field day ( ) was dom punch a dude fair in the face for rewinding a tune without his permission

shadow is boring as, everytime i've seen him he has been gash

i also once had a bender with the plump DJs (y)

Cannot stand Get Lucky and it will most likely get no 1.
Do not understand all the hype behind it to be honest, does not stand out as anything special to me.

Bet Covered in Chrome does pretty well also, far out JJJ have been spamming it.

Personally I hope this gets no 1.

    POSSIBLY NSFW rof
