I had a bit of a look and I can't find anything that says that ZC is an injury replacement. Read a few reports on Caravella's re-signing and it doesn't mention him as a replacement. Didn't someone contact RM directly and ask that question?
I think we had a spare spot and we signed him for a year following the injury.
