Anyone else think Milligan was brilliant when he came on? I don't see why he can't play that more advanced role with luongo. Just because he and jedinak are in there doesn't mean they have to both hold.

Do we think Luongo will be a target for clubs following the AC? Where would you like to see him go?

    Wouldn't have been hard.

Bresc was that honking Ange would be hard pressed to pick him ever again.

I know the bloke has some skills our players don't but I just don't see how he fits in Ange's team at all.
Bresc plays very slow tempo where Ange plays a quick tempo game.

Ange has at least found a way to incorporate Timmy into his attack even if it goes against a lot of what he wants.
Can't really see him being able to fashion a role for Bresc and with the likes of Rogic (If he can get his shit sorted) De Silva Beard Antonis etc coming along Bresc odds on to be pensioned off in a weeks time anyway

If that kid ever gets gets his shit sorted out, it can strengthen us hugely. He just has something other players don't and makes everything exciting.
Shame he is a Gypo though and is now being punished for it.

Spot on. I was thinking Ange would do a straight swap, Milligan for Bresciano. Ended up happening that way by the end.

This. Pretty condescending to assume Japan are through to the Semis. Reminds me of those that assumed the Footballroos would top the group and bought tix as such....

I am only assuming the Japs will win because if they don't it is a bonus and all but guaranteed Final for us.

UAE do not worry me in the slightest as I feel they will park the bus against us and end up getting done over anyway like the rest of the Gulf nations have done when playing Australia.

Japan I respect and fear. They won't park the bus and will have a go at us and as I don't rate our defence I feel in Honda Kagawa Endo and co have the class to tear us a new arse hole

I am already assuming the worst as we may as well expect to play the superior side now and if we get the lesser side happy days

The more I've watched this tournament, the more it sinks into me that FIFA missed a golden opportunity to play the World Cup here. We would fill every stadium for every game. We're getting 5000 people to Bahrain v Qatar and 7500 when the socceroos were playing at the same time to a dead rubber match! Imagine if we had England, Brazil, Germany and Argentina coming out here!

This tournament has certainly surpassed my expectations and I'm really enjoying watching the matches. Teams are coming out and having a go at each other and playing some very entertaining football.

After the crap we Jets fans have endured over the last number of years, more-so recently, it's great to enjoy football again.

Cannot wait for Tuesday night. The biggest thing in this city since the Beckham match.

Fifa a missed a golden opportunity by not giving us the WC??

WTF You are pretty naïve here. FIFA are all about making money for themselves and their associates. No way in the world would they want a WC in Australia where the government are not gonna bend on laws. In Brazil and Sth Africa local laws were broken/bent that badly to exploit the country for FIFA's gain. They are still pissed about what happened in Germany where the locals wouldn't play ball.

No WC anytime soon is going to a Western Nation who has pretty firm laws that will not see the government easily concede to FIFA's demands.

It ain't about the crowds or the people. It is all about the money.

Crowds will go to the WC wherever it is on the planet. Qatar will be well supported regardless of the bullshit predictions the media make just as Russia will be well supported regardless of how the western media continue to demonise Putin and Russia for not bending over and taking it up the arse to accommodate US interests.

FIFA ain't missing anything by avoiding us. They actually will gain more by not coming here
