Putting things in perspective, Mowtown won minor premiership two weeks ago now. There are a lot of injured players who will be back for the semis. Cooks Hill played well against Mowtown side which had 5 ressies playing one of them backing up after his reserve grade game. (Ressies also had half of 3rd grade playing). 1st grade with 5 ressies dominated the game for long periods and were unlucky to come away with nothing... You could hear the sigh of relief at final whistle from Cooks Hill. The wheels are still firmly fixed in place !

Granted I didn't see first 1/3 of of the 1st half, I wouldn't say 'long periods'. Certainly from the frequency of banter from the sideline peanut gallery (all good fun) with all the Cookers misses,
you know you were lucky it wasn't more. e.g great double save by MoTown keeper midway 2nd, header by our little midfielder at the death that hit the LH upright + other numerous chances
that looked more like back passes than shots...

MoTown have some good quick players with good feet. They can expect battles like that just about every week in ZPL next year.

Well the top four is sorted. Got to 2 games this wknd. Cookers v Morry. I shoulda stayed at home on the football front. Cookers deserved the win as they out battled Morry at their own game. If Morry get back to playing football rather than the concentrating on the off field debacle of some of their coaching staff and fans they might just put their wheels back on the axle and get to the gf. Not so sure tho. It was a bit embarrassing.

Kotara v warners bay. Not sure if the pitch played its part but kotara are to 1 dimensional. Long balls and little dinks over the top. Ok if the defence ur up against cant read a game but I'm afraid that wasn't the case today. Like reading a book. On the other side warners bay were gifted two goals buy a goal keeping error and pedestrian defending. Lucky to get a score line like that in my opinion.

Now who will win the big gf. Count out stocko and warners bay. Just not good enough over 2 legs. Unless stocko get a few goals on their own patch which is rubbish. Sorry boys. Morry and cooks hill I reckon. Depends on Morry. I reckon their gone and calling injuries as an excuse early. But if they get on with football and stop carrying on like 4 yr old. Players and some staff they will win the double at ease.
Any other opinions.

Not sure how you say stockos ground is rubbish.. yes it gets windy but the ground was good except the line markings when i played there.

Cookers ground would have to be the worst in the comp with how unlevel it is.

Speaking of cookers they played a very poor motown yesterday.. also cookers were/are playing to make the finals that makes a big difference

It wasn't to long ago, maybe 5-6 years that the Warners Bay lads chanted Cookers are Chokers. How times have changed dramatically.

The next season all there players left and they came last.
I can't see them doing well next year either.
I think Cooks Hill or Warners Bay are much stronger clubs
And would be better suited going up.

I'm lead to believe Cooks Hill are in the highest division they can be in unless Cooks Hill NewFM are promoted to NPL.

We were told at CHUFC that we could be promoted to ZPL if minor premiers. However it's a moot point this season as Morisset worthy premiers. I think they'll be very competitive in ZPL but the big test for any promoted club as evidenced by our NEWFM side is squad depth. Need a lot more than a quality starting side over the course of a season!!!! As for the finals we can't wait it's why we all go through preseason..... I'm not going to lie a harbour-side derby in the GF is a NNSWFF marketers wet dream.... I can already hear the turnstiles singing 😂😂😂😂

Never heard that one..I don't think you can call a team that was in 5 ZPL GF's in a row and won 4 of those GFs chokers! Cooks Hill typically come on strong at the end of the season, no the other way round. If my memory serves me correctly, Warners Bay won a minor premiership, were heavy favorites for the double but lost the GF to cookers in one of those years..so maybe the chant should be reversed!

Well done to Mori for wining 1st grade minor, best team over the course of the year, same for Kotara in 3rds. 2nds still up for grabs and will go down to the wire with kotara facing mori and cookers vs charlie, it could be cookers or kotaras in the end, both would be deserving.

I don't think cookers would want to go to ZPL would they? That's a quick comp for young legs

Stockos ground is fine, wind is the only problem. Cookers ground starts good, usually ok in the middle, and is pretty fcked by the end..same every year, but each year we try to make it a little bit better than the last, and as hard to believe as it sounds, it actually is pretty good for this time of year compared to the last 3.

I think you will find Mori could also be minor prems if they win and cookers get no points

Chef you must have something against lower Lake Mac teams - firstly you ripped into Westlakes and now Motown

You need to get your facts correct

Morri won in 2010 got promoted and lost most of first grade to Toronto (followed Steve Eagleton )

2011 lost grand final 2-1 in ZPL

2012 lost the bulk of team 3 games into season and played mainly 23s in first grade

The key will be keeping the team - if they do that they wont struggle like you think but only time will tell

Thats what I'm saying. I hope you can maintain your squad over the next few seasons to compete in the higher grade.
Last time you guys went up everyone left and it was a real shame because you had such a good team. It would be a real shame to see the same thing happen again. I wish you guys all the very best in the future.
