With apparently 70k to spend, he should be fine. Piggo could take some Weston guys to Maitland too...

I don't see anyone from Weston following Piggo, considering the playing group had him run out of the club

Maybe it's the players that are the problem, didn't they finish higher last year

$70k, ridiculous amount, players aren't worth the money their demanding, when will clubs learn you don't need to spend big coin to be successful

Which clubs did well this season without spending big ? I think Valo must of contacted every player in NNSW by now. Are their current players hanging around ?

I was very amused with tanch's comments in the herald. They are lucky the tie isn't over. Good old tanch must have watched another game if he thinks the deserved more out of the game

Is $70k a ridiculous amount?? Not sure how it works with clubs but assume 20 players would be paid so if you averaged it out at $200pw per player yes I know some would be paid more some would be less but on an average that would be $4000pw x 18 weeks $72k. After talking to a player in Sydney a lot of their players are paid $1k plus a week over a longer season. Years ago I think it use to be you got paid if you got a result and bonuses etc I know that was with Rugby League not sure if this still goes on??

to be honest I think football(soccer) players in this town should get more cash.

Some of the wests 1st grade footballers are on 40k a season.

about 4 grades per age group in u9s league soccer has about 20

In adults there is 4 comps for league about 30 for soccer.

Union has even more laughable amount of people playing it. Yet union first graders get more money then soccer too!

Which would be harder to make it to for an athlete ? Soccer of course with many more players fighting for spots in the top league.

Shame big leagues clubs like Wests don't support the game. For our participation rates in this country not enough people make a living from this game!

    Guy gets baited so easily.
I remember a few years ago at Lakes, he was on the verge of jumping fences to punch on. Daddy came and had a few choice words to say to those baiting him.

Dead right cobra23. It's called belting mugs, which is a legitimate method of crowd control. The better method is to line them up for after the game and invite them to show you and your son how fair dinkum they are

A player of his experience should be comfortable in handling a bit of banter from the crowd.

No doubt the remarks from the crowd can get quite personal and cross the line at times.

If I recall right some twat from the Gypos has copped 10000000 times worse from us and hasn't tried to snot us but enjoys giving it back in the right way.

Going and snotting the crowd is not acceptable in any circumstance.

Bigger sign of ones character to handle the situation and not resort to violence.

As in life, sport also has checks and balances. One rule is that situations alter cases. But the most important rule is that left hooks alter faces. This is the rule that bucket mouths need to remember.

    Really?
So Brad Swancott, a 30? year old man, who has played in the NSL and heard all of the sledging under the sun, and who loves a good retort, getting paid to play semi professionally can't handle a few comments and needs to kick balls at them, get in their face, and needs their 50-60 year old father to try and start a fight to protect him?
    Gotcha.
I'm deeply sorry if anything I have said has upset you. Don't get your dad onto me.
