2016 Zone League 1 thread

Is there any indication of when NNSW will announce what is happening. Clubs all the way through from NPL to ZL3 need to plan for next year and the longer they hold out the harder it becomes for those volunteers to set up for a strong season.

Supposed to be straight after the NPL GF but apparently NPL clubs submitted a proposal to bring back an Open Reserve Grade so NNSW have apparently pushed the decision back. I just hope they make the decision ASAP as it will have a huge impact on NEWFM clubs hoping to go up. Any delay provides existing NPL clubs with a huge advantage to secure players as they can pretty much guarantee they'll be there next year. Potentially huge impact on Cookers if they do away with a Second Division we've then got 100 players to squeeze into 1 Zone team not to mention all the talented juniors in the 17's & 19's teams.

Existing NPL clubs are applying for a license too. Clubs must meet the criteria set out by Northern or risk being demoted to ZPL or a 'non-conforming' NNSWF competition at the discretion of the selection panel.

Other than that, I agree 100%. Terrace 1st are doing good. Shame about the lower teams not being able to get up there. Is the talk Terrace could look to struggle for numbers again next year??

farce. ffa should mandate a time/date when top tier comps rules and formats should be released. Fines if not met. broke in 12 months

Terrace have struggled for numbers for years, that's the reason they dropped down from ZL1 2 years ago when majority of the players left and the numbers where made up by mainly all age players. Even last year we had 2 teams in the ZL2 grand final with ressies only having 2 reserves. Hopefully next year will be different, but I'm pretty sure other teams have been through the same at some stage
