    Magic won 19s 3-1 V Olympic

Jets up 1-0 at HT V Olympic in 22s
Olympic need 5 just to level the tie

Darling street update: still first half. Magic hit woodwork twice and Olympic have nearly run out of canteen stock. I guess it's hard to know how to handle a match day when your own supporters BYO. Can't handle a club that doesn't mind spending a bit of cash at the canteen. #notsurprised

Edit. Ps. There's a bottle shop around the corner. Open your wallets!

To be fair there is quite a healthy crowd here.

Probably 1500 and it was quite heathy at 4pm when I got here

    HT 0-0
Olympic not creating a great deal so far.

Can see them needing to change something as it ain't threatening Magic at the moment.

Maybe push Bertos a little higher

To be fair they should know that Magic have a strong supporter base and don't BYO.

Got to my first NPL games of the year. As expected, big difference from the New-FM games I normally watch. Some thoughts:

19's: Weston 1-1 Emerging Jets (WES 2-1 AGG)
Some classy players in both of these teams. Weston's #10 was just clinical with nearly every touch. A great game to watch with quality that put the New-FM 19's to the side. Just brilliant at times. Weston had the age and therefore physical advantage on the Jets but fairly even.

    22's: Magic 3-0 Weston
Had a feeling Weston would score an away goal but Magic to their credit played well in attack and defended it too. Refereeing was average and game spilled over a few times. Not up to the standard of 19's

    1st: Edgy 2-1 Maitland
Despite what some may think, I'm a fan of Edgy's style. Loads of talent coming through there. Was hoping the underdog could cause a boilover for the sake of football theatre. Maitland looked good. Ryan Clarke brilliant at times but McBreen's experience and Edgy's overall class just enough. Hanging to see what Edgy can do at full-strength against WSW this Tuesday.

    And at Darling St:

    Olympic 1-2 Magic
Was going to go to 22's but glad I didn't. Sounds like a fairly one-sided match. First Grade. Amazing game. Couldn't believe the size of the crowd and the general feeling of it. Felt like a Edgy v Melb City-esque FFA Cup night. Great night for local football regardless of result. Olympic were good and threatened but the likes of Piddo and L.Virgili just too good in defence. L.Virgili made a goalline clearance I believe. Magic just got the job done and as mentioned grabbed two late goals on the counter.

Edgy favourites to win next weekend IMO. Should be a brilliant day, 19's, 22's and 1st.

Surely you are not comparing NPL to NEWFM 19's? Its a gap that is huge! Lakes NPL 19's wouldn't come close to the worst NPL Side this season. I'd back Maitland or Valo 19's to role the NEWFM Premiers but 5-6 goals.

Olympic battled hard with a depleted side, could've been different if you included the missing 3 or that 2nd goal had stood .But as we know if 'ifs and buts were candy and nuts every day would be Xmas '.It's a results game and Magic won, congrats and I hope they win next week because if there is one team that bugs me more than Magic it's Edgy.
