He does like promoting youth. He's had a 17 year old start the last two games while bringing on two more teens for their debut.
He doesn't understand why you can't sign a player from within the league rather than having to look for someone from a different league. You can't expect a young kid to slot straight in and become a permanent first grader in the midfield. You need to bleed the kids in and give them a proper chance which I'm sure they will still get. If you can't work it out, then I can't help you any further.

Like someone said as if magic are the only club with injuries. If a club with the depth/squad magic have are complaining about signing players etc spare a thought for clubs that don't have half the depth/squad that magic have... I think he is doing a lot of complaining because his side are not winning, not top of the pile. If they were he would be praising them instead.

Well I can certainly tell you that Ruben isn't going to the Herald because he wants to have a whinge with them. He's more than happy to mind his own business and get on with the job. I guess the reporters do a pretty good job of picking out only people who are going to give them the clicks on articles they need because he's going to speak honestly.

After all these years he still finds it hard to believe players are happy to play for Magic for reasons other than money. I think you'd find it hard to find another club that has a playing roster with any near the amount of collective games played for that current club than Magic does.

There is 500 plus between Maguire, tull, ferguson, sulini at azzurri, so would be hard to beat

    I am with FR

Magic may not be paying the most money in the comp but they definitely one of the better paying sides out there

To be fair, those boys are certainly loyal and good blokes. But Piddo and Haynes alone are around 450. You then have Higgins 150+, Luke Virgili, Hoole, Griff who are 100+ so there's around 900 without even mentioning Foteff, Bradbury, Alex Kanta. And all of those figures are from last year. So there would be well in excess of over a 1000 games there.
No way is that a dig at Azzuri, but if people can honestly think that these boys haven't turned down bigger money from others club and to remain at Magic then they're absolutely kidding themselves.

I wonder how many First division games are in the current South Cardiff squad.....

Magic would certainly not have the smallest wage bill in the comp, that's obvious and I don't think anyone would deny that. But I certainly don't think they are paying overs for their players. They have a very solid roster, so you'd expect a fair amount goes to wages, but I'd be certain most of those boys would have been offered more money from other clubs and could definitely be earning more somewhere else.

I think in terms of player payments, Jaffas and Maitland would be two of the highest paying clubs, well in front of Magic!

I think we are all in agreement then

    Jaffas
    Maitland
    Magic/Olympic
    Edgy
    The rest

I backing that the pecking order

Ruben though can't complain that his club ain't offering good coin

Because they are. Blokes atagic may not be on top $$ but they well looked after they ain't poor

His whole gripe is BS anyway

The rule that you can't bring in from outside actually encouraging clubs to use the 20s

Exactly what they should be doing.

Not looking to short term plug a hole with an outside player

    Promote the Yoof

Valo v Weston 1-1 at HT. Early goal to the home side and they were largely in control. Weston slowly came back into it but got a pen out of nothing. Had a few half-chances at the end of half. My 4.50 on the draw so far looking good....

Valo 2-1 Weston FT. Weston all over the hosts in the second. Valo snatched it with basically the last kick of the game. Totally undeserved win.
