these guys are at the age to demolish teams with there experience, speed, fitness etc, but kids these days dont have the mogrel in them like previous magic players have had.
But to be perfectly fair Magic should have let Haynes go 2 years ago ideally

It may have seemed harsh but at the time it would have been the right call

Magic's recruitment for the last 3-4 years has been pretty poor really

Haven't addressed midfield control and are too top heavy in attack

Their defence has been terrible for 3-4 years now but they haven't even addressed that

    Defence wins titles after all

They desperately need a midfielder who will direct play and provide better service to the front 3, how handy would Cassa be right now !

Anyone got any idea on what their wage bill might be? surely 150k or more would have to be the level they are at?

Also, i would GUESS they are spending 30% more than the 2nd highest spenders. Anyone have any opinion on this?

being not for profit organisations arnt clubs suppose to provide all their members with an AGM and detailed accounts of where money is being spent (yes I realise some clubs out there would be cooking the books) that is the first place to start on where clubs money is coming and going

But do they buy players??? I don't know of any NPL clubs that buy players..Certain coaches may attract or coerce players to play for a club.

I would say that their wages bill are not too different form all other NPL clubs. It is you assume their wages are more because they change a number of players each year

Yep. good luck to them. I'm even starting to watch and it isnt the big names that are impressing.

There will be another team spending overs soon enough taking over top rung.

more basing it off the fact they have to pay wheelhouse, swancott, remmington, both griffiths and if the numbers thrown as gossip are even close to the mark its some serious cash they are spending this year. And lets throw in their coach, the moneythat has been gossiped around that he is reportedly on is astounding.

the aussie way, knock a club for taking it up a level, have a good look at yourselves. They should call this the dribble thread. Have a big winge when your club can't cut it.

Nice assumption. I didn't criticise Lambton. I only asked a question. I also have no affiliation with any club. But hey, if you want to want to whinge about a discussion on a community board than what a life you must have.

You are assuming a lot in that and you know what assume means. If you do a bit of a calculation, you say $150K in wages add to that say $70K/80K running expenses and you get $220/230k. (add the coaches wage and you are talking $300K+) Where would a local NPL club get that kind of money. Not from gate takings and canteen sales.

    Seriously?
There are buying clubs and development clubs.
How many NPL clubs are properly connected to a junior base outside of the NPL stream?
And how many of those actually have a sustainable platform of players from 6's that will feed their 13 NPL teams each year?
Good on those that do - but there arent too many.
