The season we made the GF the second time and Id say season 1 and two of the aleague and thats it

Like I said, the last 10 years.

I would say we didn't necessarily recruit well the year we made the GF. We just overachieved with mediocre players.

Would have to ask that piss in ya pocket management we have that question. After all they did say they were searching for one whilst still trying to sell memberships.

I would say our recruitment that season was ****ing great regardless of our level of over achievement

We were backed at the business end of the season with McGree and Pato

The dumbest bit of recruitment we done that year was selling Nabbout in February

North and Durante were probably the best performing defenders in the comp that year and Covic did a stellar job as well.
We also had a solid midfield - Song, Holland, Denni, Stu, Ankles... that could move the ball quickly to a striker [Griffo] with both natural speed and the ability to put the ball in the back of the net both in play and from set pieces.
Because of this, teams that played high got punished when they lost the ball and teams that sat back simply struggled to score goals against us.

We may have lacked the flair we showed in the previous season or that of of 2018 - but we were never a team of mediocre players.

12 of that squad were or would be capped senior team internationals and the majority of the rest played at either u20 or u23 level for their country.
