Precisely right Fish. The idea was brought in for the 80's and 90's where it was common for TV's to be black and white in 3rd world shitholes. As a result Fifa wanted dark kit V Light Kit to assit viewers in these impoverished parts of the world.
Now considering the HAL is only available in Australia via Foxtel (not withstanding illegal internet streams!!) I would assume in this day and age that the amount of Black and white Tv would be negligible.
If you are wealthy enough to pay for Foxtel it is safe to say you as a TV conossieur ain't watching it on a Black and White CRT box with the pull out knobs and have at least gone the full hog for colour!!!
Hell even on welfare a gypo can afford a Plasma or LCD in high Definition.
This being the case why does the HAL still play to this archaic rule???
As far as I am concerned we should be playing in our home kit where ever possible. So only when we play WSW Adelaide Heart away should we have any remote chance of a kit clash.

I'm colour blind (partially) and this is fine.... What i hate is our away games at Melbourne Heart. Red and White stripes v Black and White stripes. The white stands out on both kits and i can't tell the difference between the red and black. If Melbourne payers turns their backs to the tv all game than i would be right as the back of their shirts are mainly red where as the Jets are still striped.
