Anyone who though Dudley would be promoted again in the first year clearly have no idea.

My mail from Dudley was that the squad that is competing in Northern League One is a little different from their ZL1 squad from last year. I'm happy to be corrected if not accurate.

A few retirements , Player's not wanting to commit to 2nd Division football and the Club needing to bring in players to fit in with age restrictions rules. I think Dudley had to bring 4 or 5 players under 21 into their First and Reserve grade squad.

Dudley have been very competitive in the competition, currently in 6th position.

    Midweek

    Kotara 3-2 Suns

A huge game in the context of the season for both clubs chasing the league leaders.

Will be 3 losses on the bounce for Kotara if they come up short against Suns

They had a win on the weekend. But point taken - another loss kills any title aspirations they may have

Yes you are correct they defeated Westlakes on the weekend. Definitely still a must win against the Suns though. Even a point probably wont be good enough to chase down Croatia in the long run.

I was doing a bit of stats review after the Suns got smacked at home ending an unbeaten run at Myers Park. Wondering if any other clubs have a record of their clubs best run records?
I think it's good to recognize these achievements.

Between 2022 and 2025, the Suns went 27 games at home unbeaten with a record of 25 wins and 2 draws.

Between 2023 and 2024, the Suns went on a run of 33 games without loss with a record of 31 wins and 2 draws.
During that unbeaten run, there was a win streak of 18 games.

    Consecutive wins - 18
    Consecutive games unbeaten - 33
Consecutive games unbeaten at home - 27

This is why I think Croatia should just maybe be a tad worried about their premiership & promotion aspirations. Suns have the ability and history to to go on a long run of wins and if they do it this season then they will finish top of the pile.

Ironically their toughest test left this season is arguably against Kotara tomorrow night. Win that though and I think Croatia might just feel a bit nervous.

    Cool stats Lofty.
I remember the game before the start of that unbeaten run at home too.

Croatia still have to play Kotara again also. There?s a bit to play out in this one still

Coincided with Jaffas unbeaten run at the same time which I think we beat by one game. Would be interesting to know what those records are for each division in Newcastle or if anyone in the Zone Leagues has bettered that.

In the 2022 season we lost at home to Westlakes 4-3 and then later in the season 3-1 to Dudley and a few days later we lost 4-3 to Azzurri which was the last loss before the unbeaten run. 2023 we won 10/10 at home and 2024 we won 14/15 with one draw.

Those are amazing numbers by Suns. That won’t ever get beaten in zone league 1.

I’d love to look back at some of my win streaks with clubs I’ve played for, but I think I’d be opening up old wounds once I remember the loses, while I didn’t lose many even when playing alongside mercenaries they still hurt.

The obvious pick would be the mid week catch up Suns vs Kotara, great opportunity for views, I also think bartv need a live chat panel for these games

Are they having a laugh... no one wants to watch that level of football. It should be Suns v Cardiff under the lights.

I nearly chocked on my Cornflakes. I'd be happy with Suns v Cardiff or kotara v uni. Sounds like this villa guy likes watching himself a little too much on the camera. Should be no room for an Ego trip, just show the best.

It?s not even the biggest game in ZL3. 3 game of the week matches for Merewether is just a piss take.

I've put money on mysterious injuries occurring that will see them finish second.
