Congrats to Greta on a dominant season.

Charlestown should be proud of the effort in both grades.

Either way Greta will come out firing and take the game to Charlestown.

The first scenario, Greta will put too much pressure on Charlestown, they will concede some goals due to the pressure and they will go on and win the game reasonably comfortably by a couple of goals.

Second Scenario, Charlestown will hang on early and hold out the pressure. They will hit Greta on the counter. In this scenario it will be close and could go either way.

Im tipping Greta 3-1 , They are a big , intense team and when the momentum is on their side, it is hard to stop. Greta are dangerous of all set pieces. They are the fresh after having a decent run in compared to Charlestown who have played alot more games of late.

Either way, hopefully it's a good game.
I got the margin correct, I always thought Greta would win the game. First goal was off a corner, I thought that was an area they would have an advantage in.

Overall, Charlestown can be proud of their efforts. They had a real good run towards the finals. They really needed to take their chance in the first half, but that's football.

    Well done to both teams

They've been trying to claim a ZL3 spot the last few years after they left the comp. I'm wondering why it has taken so long for them to have rumoured to finally been accepted. All the other teams would be dreading that away trip, almost as bad as Southern

So what will they do? Top two go up to ZL2? With top two of ZL2 to go up to ZL1?

Once they were knocked back and then they were offered a spot 2 or 3 weeks before comps started.

Welcome Muswellbrook and Maitland. Either of them a chance of shaking the comp up in the first year?

Where's the Maitland team forming from? All age? another club nearby?

Doubt it's All Age, their top AA team was mid grade and struggled.

Suburbs losing some of their big guns to minmi, wonder if they gave up on the idea of promotion after a few seasons or some cash was involved

It?ll be interesting to see how they perform in zl2, certainly didn?t make many waves in this competition last year.

Any gauge how the new teams are coming along. Should be a good comp this year. Charlestown will improve. Word is Fletcher have picked up some quality. Merewether are well coached and on the way up.
Garden Suburbs signing a few from higher grades.

You just hope the new teams hit the ground running and aren't the bottom few teams

No word on Muswellbrook, I believe Maitland are majority coming from the under 18s a grade side they had last year. I think suburbs lost a lot of their first grade, they might struggle. Charlestown Merewether and Kurri to battle out promotion for me

Only speculating but having spent most of my life up there the travelling is part and parcel of it. They've done the last few seasons in All Age Fridays and Saturdays. Shift work has also always been a huge issue up there. I'm guessing they have picked up a few new guys as I couldn't imagine they would sign up for Zone League again just to drive down and get beaten every week. Fingers crossed they will be competitive, always good when they are in the comp.
