Good luck keeping the starting 11 and maybe the next 4-7 players without having a few lads on lesser money.

Fill the squad with quality..... All 23 spots, all good enough to walk into a starting spot anywhere else in the league.

Get Melbourne storms ex-accountants to help you.

I see it as a good thing, he's had ample room to move within the salary cap and squad with the players who have been moved on allowing him to craft his own team, it avoids the GVE situation of its not his team just wait another 12 months.

Was thinking the exact same thing when we were releasing Zads from his contract. How often have we lamented every other club appearing to be magically able to move unwanted under contract players while we get stuck with squad fillers who never make an appearance?

Only problem is we are going back to where we were before GVE bought the kids in.

We now have no Taggz No Beard a pile shit and Griffo

What progress has been made blooding the kids isn't bearing fruit when you sell them before you get success on the field with them

You're not naive enough to think HSG aren't in the "recoups costs" stage of ownership are you?

This was always the downside and expected outcome with the retarded gve. Get talented kids in, under perform for a few years, become qualified then out the door before we get the reward on the pitch.
Aleague is a high transition league so might as well have the now competent players for a couple of yrs then move on. Keep a couple of younguns on the fringe.

He's no Phil Jamieson yet but if he keeps going the way he is, we are all gonna be winners. And you know what they say, winners are Grinners.

He's actually a lot lower than you might expect, the Phamous Phil ratings are a bit like the FIFA rankings.

    5. Phil McCracken
    6. Phil Stubbins

Interesting reading back on what we were hoping for when he signed....

Better than that though, Phil puns and list of Phamous Phils. No doubt stubbing has slid further in the rankings than the socceroos!

Unlike Phil's adventure in Thailand, I don't see his time here having a happy ending.
