Lucky Cardiff lost alot of players from last year or kahibah would have been back down in zl1 where they were.

Chris Turner thought the league was easily his with the squad he had and training one night a week.

I guess he soon realised that zpl was above the quality that he expected .

But with kahibah with money to burn and such a quality player coach for next season being announced way in advance . I can only imagine they could possibly recruit really well and win ZPL next year.

Pretty confident ct got a squad together last season to win zl1 and by the time we got put in zpl it was to late to add to the squad.

A team that should win ZL1 shouldn't be scraping the bottom of ZPL. The jump in quality isn't that great.
    OK

Playing in zl1 last season and playing in zpl this season the quality of football is a big jump, were probably 2 players short of being a good team in zpl

Honestly don't know what club but was only told a club so does this mean a ZPL side will be promoted? If so who is the pick? I'd be guessing Cooks Hill will be close to being promoted or the Bay.
Within the talks at games recently have been some tlaks certainly about clubs positions not being as rosey as some might like.

Valentine spent a substantial amount (compared to some other clubs) trying to regain promotion and may not be able to commit to such an amount next season.
Toronto are under some pressure due to possible reduction in the Workers Club sponsorship amount but are certainly not going bust.
Singleton seem to have more money than good sense with the amounts being spoken off to try and entice players their this season and the coaches income.
West Wallsend will not just break even but will pay its hoped several thousand off the debt they started the season with.
Thornton are already actively approaching some Maitland players with sums to hopefully entice them to Thornton so do not appear to have financial issues.

Maitland are promoted and financial, Lake Mac (coming down) are already planning for 2015 and so can be ruled out. Cessnock I really know nothing about nor Belswans but at being at games involving both this season they didn't give any outward signs of being in financial trouble.

I dare say most would like to be in better finances than they are, what club wouldn't. But lets be honest, with the position West Wallsend found themselves in with only weeks to go before the season and they have turned around so dramatically in a season, I don't think we will see a club fold with so little sings that finances were so bad.

I would assume it's on. I heard the two lower grades managed to play last night even after all that rain and there's been much less today.

So that confirms the top 4 of New Lambton, Mayfield, Wallsend and Cooks Hill.
Dudley and Barnsley narrowly missing out.

Also what will happen if (or should I say when) this weekend is washed out? Top 4 is decided, but who finishes where in the 4 can change still.

I raised this question at the Newcastle Football meeting on Monday.we were informed that games could be replayed midweek, but unsure what happens if some play and others don't. It would be pretty disappointing if not all teams were given an equal opportunity to get 3 points.

Lucky for the Eagles, they would hold top spot if the last round is washed out or as the table suggests beat second last Kahibah. I don't think Cooks Hill really gives a flying f.ck who they play in the semi final if they finish third or fourth.

I don't see how that is lucky for the Eagles? The real question is what happens if some games are played and others are not?

You are right. It is not luck for the Eagles. They are red hot either way to get the quinella. Surely all fixtures will be played or all will be cancelled this weekend ? It would not surprise us if the games are pushed to a Tuesday night for example, if it comes to a postponement of fixtures.
