Rates up with a few years ago that Week 1 of the finals Jesmond Reggie's played a knockout game at Muswellbrook and 1sts played the same day at Barnsley and then the second week we were forced to move the 1st Grade Home game to 1pm to allow the opposition players to attend a wedding. How these people get these positions is beyond me.

Nope. The decision came from the association. Apparently because Olympic's game was confirmed at Connolly Park on the weekend before the Suns washout game gave them preference. Suns will be hosting the return leg.

So with all this talk of a couple of ZPL teams moving up to NEWFM would this mean that Bero and potentially Suburbs may be promoted? and if that's the case would you suburbs boys go? I know in the past you have rejected it, wanting to gain it in the proper way. I really believe you both bero and suburbs belong in ZPL.

This has been bought up in conversation a few times over the last few weeks. A few of the senior players are planning on having meeting in the next few weeks to discuss the future of the club I'm sure this will be on the agenda

If you's stick to your philosophy burbs will be playing league 1 next year

Burbs have every right to revisit their previous decision around promotion and make a call based on the best interest of their club for 2015. I don't think anyone would begrudge them taking the opportunity for promotion if it were given to them.

The Federation have nothing to do with it. Zone Leagues are administered by Newcastle Football on behalf of the three zones.

Federation, association, Newcastle football.. Same thing. The point was that the 'decision makers' decision to give preference to ZL2, rather than ZL1 was poor. I understand there weren't a lot of options, but that's just my opinion.

wouldnt imagine them looking the best with the rain we received this week, both grounds seemed to be called off pretty quickly. but maybe an exception will be made for the semis.

will only be called off if ground is deemed to be unsafe for play.. it has all summer to recover from being chopped up

I've just heard from our president as he was leaving Jesmond Park and it's still pretty bad, although seems to be improving as what he described sounds better than what a group of us witnessed last night. As was stated by Bero, we'll be looking to get it going as long as it's not dangerous and obviously approved by the referee.

Having spoken to the powers-to-be at the association a couple of times this week, note there could be an email go out later in the day with more information for the consideration of hosting clubs.

FYI Garden Suburbs - we are going to inspect the ground tomorrow afternoon and will aim to keep you posted.
