Hi,
I have noticed the last 2-3 matches that the ground announcer comes over the PA and cuts off the end of the walk-out "Never Tear Us Apart".
Why is this so? Is he directed to introduce the players at a certain part of the walk out? Is the walk-out time decided by the referee? Foxtel?
We managed to do this for a few seasons with no problems, but the announcement simply drowns out the emphasis at the end of the song.
I look forward to your reply.
i don't remember why but the pa for some stupid reason has to announce the players on to the field.
furns might answer this one better.

Just continued dumbing down of sports/entertainment in general.
Coz we need a guy to tell us that the players are walking out, when they are in fact, walking out. Prob some lefty bullshit to placate any vision impaired people in the crowd.
Same idiots that scream over the PA at basketball games chanting deeee-fence.

Bands, cringingly loud music, pointless announcements, too many things happening at once during halftime.
Having watched the game for nigh over 30 years the increasing disengagement of the crowd is noticeable.
Football is a game based on atmosphere from the audience...they don't need prompting.
There are no announcements at Anfield before a game for instance - just YNWA played over the PA.
