To be fair Wellington missed a bucketload of chances. Still it's another late goal that cost us.

Fair enough that we don't have the players to play like Brazil, but effin hell. Insipid is probably a good word. We were crap, don't let the scoreboard fool you.

I would've preferred to be caned 4-0 then throw it away at the end again

Same here. It's becoming a routine to throw it all away at the end. Lost counts of how many goals we've let in during the last ten minutes this season.

How many have we let in in injury time is the question

I can remember a couple. The one at Gosford in round 1 comes to mind. And then there was Welsh the other week.

I'd like too see us maybe use Montano similar to Heskey when he was playing behind Taggart. Obvious problem there is we don't really have a Taggart for him to link with unless we wanna start Radivan but it could be worth a try considering our season is effectively over.

Wellington were by far the better team and deserved a lot more than a draw. The Jets scored from two set pieces one of which was an own goal - and created very few other chances.

The big problem for the Jets is that they have absolutely no respect for the ball and give it up far too easily.

The effort is there at times but after this many games without a win player confidence would not be high. [ Hello Captain Obvious]

The game that we conceded late goals:
In injury time Round 1: 1-0 loss to Mariners
In 87' Round 2: 1-1 draw with Melbourne City
In 94' Round 3: 4-1 loss to Nix (3-1 down at the time)
Not as late but 74' and 77' in round 4 away to Perth. Leading 1-0 at the time
In 89' Round 6: 4-0 vs Roar (already 3-0 down)
not as late but 73, 74 and 78 vs Nix after leading to lose 3-1 in round 9
In 86' Round 10: 2-0 vs Glory (already 1-0 down)
In 85' in round 12 to lose 1-0 vs Victory
In 92' in round 15 vs Adelaide when 6-0 down
In 93' in round 16 vs Brisbane when 1-1
In 86' in round 17 vs Wanderers 1-0 to go 1-0 down. Only time we scored again after conceding a late goal
In 93 today vs Nix up 2-1 into 2-2 draw

In summary that is 15 goals conceded late in games

Also number of times we have lead is 7
And number of times we have won is 1
We have lost a 2-0 lead twice

That's a stat that just kills a team's confidence. We simply can't close games out. It's hard to fix something like that because it's a confidence issue more than anything.

    This is a fantastic post.
    Well done sir.
Stubbins just read it and said that apart from those goals we've been flippin fantastic this year and would probably be leading the league.

The problem is we park the bus from the start, expect to chase the opposition with 60%+ and everyone seems surprised when we concede late.

was it just me or when gallagher was taken off ki je was just a turnstile at left back that every phoenix player went straight through???

bk cannot set a wall/defend free kicks...

I thought Ki Je was pretty good at LB. Saved us a couple of times. Not as physical as Gallagher though but reasonable. Completely agree on BK.

Kanta, excellent in defence but from his position needs to execute his passes with a little more accuracy

Let Burns & Krishna run far too much into the box.

Thought the ref was going to be fair when he didn’t give any of those home pen calls at the start then turned into a c*** by ensuring the home team got a point.

That's as good as it can get with Stabbins at the helm.
