Would love to know why Goodwin,Archbold,Mauragis have not made a match day squad. We have had Hoff play left back and he looks uncomfortable out there. We have lacked any punch of the bench all year Goodwin provided that last year

On the surface it appears that way.

To be fair we have got our recruitment rate up

3 out of 5 is a great ratio

Beka Penha Boumal are all great signings

The Greek bloke the jury is out on and the Spanish guy is MIA

I would take that ratio of successful signings every season

At the Jets 3 out of 5 success rate on recruitment is unbelievable

Party tricks don't impress me, none of them have shown anything to get excited about, passing to a Jets player would be a good start

Gotta say, comparing to our past recruitment, this season has been amazing..

I've been arguing with Frodo about this..
He loves Penha, I still think the jury is out on him.. (I totally agree that Boumal and Miekeltadze have been great, particularly Beka)
I get so frustrated with Penha cause he does some absolutely amazing stuff, and then other times he just passes it straight to the opposition, or shoots from roughly halfway, or dives cause someone looked at him.. etc..

Beka is brilliant, just wish he wouldnt always drop deep, Similar issues with Penha who also could release the ball quicker. Boumal is starting to annoy me, bit of a ball hog and tries to beat 2 or 3 players instead of passing to the open man

Not trying to compare quality at all.. But this Penha situation reminds me slightly of Ozil at Arsenal. When we are on top and things are rosy, he links up constantly and looks a class above, but when things aren't going well and we aren't on top (teams are set up to control us) he looks like he forcing things and frustrates. Plus, even though they both track back and defend, because they pick and choose the best times to do so it appears they are lazy. It also makes a difference when we have more than one passing option available, over the last 2 games we've been flat and not working off the ball, which is also why Boumal has looked isolated.

The flipside of us looking more flat has been that we haven't died after 65 mins and been overran towards the end of the game. Maybe Papas is trying to find a pace that means we can still attack/transition at pace like we did at the start of the season but have some legs to finish the game off, going to 3 atb was also interesting to me. That's a simple way to transition between all out attack and all out defence, as Stanny would know from Conte's days at Chelsea. Marquis being unavailable might also force us drop to a 2 man midfield as well.

And Tuchel atm but was it a back 3? Looked like Savas went to right back?

Our Manager needs to take a good hard look at himself

That midfield of ours is absolutely honking at actually getting about the place

That goal came after repeatedly Grozos and Arques made very little effort to actually run time and time again

    Eventually it cost us

I get the fact that we have limited depth in our squad but FMD tactically this was obvious all half and it is really not a dereliction of duty that either personnel or tactics have not been adjusted

I get we ain't playing well either but that was one soft goal to concede
