But, that doesn't justify Salah diving. I do think he should have been suspended for it IMO. He put the slightest hand on his shoulder and he threw himself to the ground. But it's in the game now, if there's a chance it was foul then it doesn't matter what the player does, it's a pen. (The suspension is only because a Pen was awarded and converted, and I think the ref was deceived to award the pen.)
i was watching one of those stupid soccer shows with the stupid people on it the oter night and they were falling over themselves about a challenge from Luiz in the Chelsea game that was a classic shoulder to shoulder bump.
It was solid contact, in the box and the Watford (?) dude hit the ground hard. These stupid soccer hot take experts rabbled on for a good few minutes whether it was a pen or not, but made sure to tell all and sundry that Luiz is a stupid head for even trying to tackle someone in the box (note: one fo the dudes on the show absolutely HATES David Luiz).
Anyway after the 'debate' about the Chelsea one, they played the Salah one and the same dude (a former Liverpool player) spent 3 sec going "oh yeah its not a good look" then moved on to the next thing.
In conclusion: Salah is getting a free ride from the press (and refs) at the moment because he dives, a lot.

Imo, he’s gone down very easy and made the most of it. Was there contact? Yes. Would it have been a free kick on halfway? Yeh, probably.

If it was Brooks for Bournemouth or anyone from Newcastle/Fulham/Southampton they would "make an example" but they can't go around sanctioning anyone from the top 6 because there's already too many divers who've gotten away with it to start now.
But the video review cant punish for degrees of contact can they?
The Salah one had contact, and he milked it.
I only thought review was for cases where there was clearly no contact.
But that where they actually need to start addressing it
It isnt like most bits of diving aint involving some form of challenge whether it be light or heavy contact
It up to the governing bodies to grow a pair and rub the likes of Salah out for his hystronics for minimal contact made
I'm not saying Salah is a saint but he regularly rides challenges. What about the one he has studs raked down his Achilles to on my stay up and score a few touches later?

He did try to pull him back, but failed. Salah then acted like he had succeeded.
