basically makes the departure of Flores a bigger disgrace if we were to sign him.

Did he look remotely like a yes man at WSW? Won't be anywhere near our side.

That being said I have it on good authority that Flores was baffled why Muppet signed him to Jets

Apparently they had a few run ins at Adelaide in the past personality wise and he was astounded a bloke who had such issues with him would want to sign him at a new club.

Can't imagine when Muppet is back in the Thai Premier League he is giving Carney Celevski Griff and co a call asking them to join him

    That would be a promotion.
    Not sure he's earned it.

Not sure if this was talked about when we re-signed him, but general consensus seems to be that Mitch Cooper is a gun player and since getting regular starting football has been one of the better players on the pitch, especially when put in the attacking mid role over being a winger

Would people like to see us try and give Cooper continuous starting football next season since it's adequately filled and there are more dire areas that need addressing or should we look to signing a better attacking mid and use Coops as a substitute instead?

Take the 2 knee reconstructions out of it and we haven't even got close to seeing this kid at his potential yet.
I remember he came into the side in 2012-13 in early 2013 and delivered a ball with the outside of the boot to RyGriff who chipped the Heart keeper. The kid would have then had a winter in the NBN developing if he hadn't of done his knee. Came back last season played a few games in the NYL and then got hacked and done the knee again.

He still hasn't had 90 mins yet. Can not wait to see what he does when he has fitness, plays in a firing team and some of these great positions he gets into he puts in the net. This time next season I fully expect him to be entrenched as a star in our side and not a promising talent we are waiting on to bloom

I have an inkling he may have had 90 minutes member. Only once though. I'll check it out. It's certainly a trend Of increasing minute I'm seeing which are obviously part of his rehabilitation.

I'm loving him in the side.

Went down at FT and had a chat to Str8 Shooter Murphy.

Mullen signed on today was a bit of gossip he passed on

Was interesting little chat. Seems a good bloke and pretty honest.

Didn't get round to mentioning who was responsible for that banner though

Tinkler spoke with shootout after the game. Was talking up for the 2 imports we've re-signed, alivodic and lee ki-ji. Either it was a mistake when he said we've signed alivodic or we're close and it hasn't officially been released.

Daniel Mullen commits to Newcastle Jets until 2017

Newcastle Jets are pleased to announce the retention of experienced defender Daniel Mullen for the next two Hyundai A-League campaigns.

Mullen -- who linked with the Jets in January this year from Western Sydney Wanderers -- has been a mainstay of the Newcastle backline throughout the second half of Hyundai A-League season 10, contributing strongly to the improved performances Phil Stubbins’ men have shown over the past few months.

Able to play in central defence or at right back, Mullen -- who won the 2014 AFC Champions League during his time with the Wanderers -- is the third outstanding defender to commit his playing future to the Jets in recent months following the signings of Nigel Boogaard and former South Korean youth international Lee Ki-je.

The former Dalian Aerbin man is viewed by the Club as another key cog in what is shaping up as a formidable defensive unit for the side from Hunter Stadium in coming seasons.

“It’s exciting for me,” Mullen said of his deal to remain with the Jets. “It’s a place that I see myself taking my personal game to the next level, but I also see it as an opportunity to make this Club a successful one.”

“We have great support from the fans, and are putting structures in place so that we can further things here and create success.”

Mullen added that he is more than happy with the direction the Club is going in under the current management and coaching staff.

“If I wasn’t happy with the current coaching personnel and structure then I wouldn’t have signed, so that speaks for itself,” he said. “I am confident with the team that they are putting together, and feel we can be a real threat next season.”

Interestingly, Mullen crossed paths with incoming Jets defender Boogaard in South Australia between 2010 and 2012. The duo were teammates at Adelaide United, and spent plenty of time playing together for the men from the city of churches.

Mullen said he can’t wait to link with Boogaard at the Jets.

“I played with Nigel for a couple of years at Adelaide and he is part of the reason why I was eager to stay,” he said. “His [Boogaard’s] signing shows the positive mindset of the Club and coaching staff. Nigel is a leader, and a born winner.”

Newcastle Jets Head Coach Phil Stubbins is delighted to have finalised Mullen’s stay at the Club.

“It’s very important that we sign players that fit into what we are trying to build,” Stubbins said. “Daniel has fitted into Newcastle the city, and Newcastle the football club like a hand in a glove.”

“He [Mullen] has brought some real leadership to the team already, and we’re confident that he will only improve in time.”

“I worked with both Daniel and Nigel at Adelaide and they are good, confident, humble, team focussed people.”

“Daniel is another fantastic signing for the Newcastle Jets,” Stubbins concluded.

Credit where it's due to the club; Li and Alivodic are both class and whoever scouted/signed these guys have done very well.

I have hope that a decent goal scorer and an attacking mid can be found if they can unearth those two.

FORMER England and Liverpool star Peter Crouch is the target of an audacious bid by the Newcastle Jets to lure a world class marquee striker to the A-League next season.

Jets owner Nathan Tinkler is in negotiations with Crouch’s management about having a stint in Australia should he fail to earn another contract in the English Premier League.

It’s understood another former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey, who played for the Jets for two seasons before returning home, has been seconded by Tinkler to personally help deliver Crouch to Newcastle.
