Hoe little you continue to know
Fair call. Don't get me wrong, certainly not making excuses or trying to explain the lack of response from the fed but the previous comments comparing it to the Columbaris issue and lack of Police input in this local issue I would imagine is the result of no complaint being lodged by the victim with Police. As I said, nothing was going to happen to George till the victim went to the police after the fact leading to the investigation and court appearance to establish the facts. George may yet be cleared of any wrong doing... though let's hope not because assault is never excusable, nor is verbal abuse but at the end of the day sticks and stones and all that.
My question about Ruben being provoked was just an inquiry from anyone present who might have heard or saw what the vision from BarTV does not show. That is to say, did anything happened as Ruben approached the match officials? Seems odd for someone to just walk up and shove a guy out of the blue. Could easily have escalated into a situation like we've heard about at Lakes, not something that should be ignored.
Perhaps the lack of response from Olympic officially may indicate either they didn't think it was serious or their player may have had some part to play in escalating to the point where Ruben shoves him? But, as I wasn't there, I can only go off the footage.
I think a few people are missing the point here - you can argue all day long whether Lakes change room policy is stupid or not.
Just because you disagree does not give you an excuse to be physical and threaten opposition team / club officials as the Edgy bloke did.
I for one am sick of seeing the increase in intimidation by players, coaches etc at our games.
If we are not careful football will be getting a reputation like the NRL has which nobody in their right mind should want.
I am all for passion, but people should not cross the line as often as seems to be occurring.
I think you're missing the point of the last few posts. It was in response to people saying that "the sheds is no place for kids and especially young girls" comment. Has nothing to do with condoning the blokes behaviour. It has to do with players/officials who are also parents being able to make a measured decision on involving their children in the club.
You're never going to come to a conclusion with this one I'm afraid. You're always going to have people who want their kids in the sheds post match and those that don't. I've got a young boy and a young girl and after years of being in the sheds after matches it's not the place I really want to be taking them. If the bloke next to me wants to take his in, fair enough. That's his prerogative.
I'm going to have to defend Lakes on this one though. If it's their policy, it's their policy. The kids get denied 1 week of being in the sheds? Big whoop. That's life. You don't always get your own way. I'm pretty sure Edgy are going to win again at a club that allows the kids in the sheds. It was hardly a monumental moment that they'll forever regret not being present for.
I think you will find that nnswf have a rule/regulation where no one but players and club officials are allowed into sheds fullstop, maybe if all clubs abide by this then there will be no altercations,
Once the game is complete and the referees and players have left the field, no they dont thats the whole argument about Lakes ridicolous rule. As I said before Magic openly let all Olympic supporters in their shed last weekend if there was a rule I'm sure Magic would enforce it on Derby day.

I think someone at the Herald needs to research a little better. MVP votes are no longer cast by the Referees. They are voted on by the coaches of the opposing team. Pretty sure that was the new rule for this season. Can anyone confirm?
Do all team songs have swearing in them?
To follow your movie classification analogy those that have swearing in them would need an age limit, those that do not involve swearing would not (not taking into account the adult themes in dressing rooms such as nudity and drug use).
To keep it simple I would not have children in my dressing room until after team song and possibly showers. Team songs don't necessarily have swearing in them but the jubilation of the moment lends itself to improvisation of the lyric. Better off going into a losers shed, bit more sober I think.
