    That for certain

The night v Iraq in 2013 though was still a fantastic night

Probably doesn't get the credit it does

Don't forget that Jesus goal came about 6 mins before FT on a night we never really looked like scoring despite having the bulk of play

The relief and euphoria when it went in though was immense

How were BOTH of UAE's goals - woof!

What this means for the Socceroos is if we can somehow beat Japan tomorrow, we have qualified for Russia without even taking into consideration what happens in the last game.
Both UAE goals - best of the qualification series from our side of the group.

God I was crook that night. I had no voice so couldn't sing or shout when we finally scored.
Weren't we basically playing an Iraqi youth side that night?

I feel much the same, I have never really been optimistic about getting results over in Japan but I am this time around. It worries me and feel it sets me up for disappointment!

We just need to treat it like sudden death imo.
I think Japan will come out guns blazing trying to win it early. But they will be looking to their last game the longer it remains scoreless or in our favour.

    Am optimistic.

Don't forget, if Japan win they qualify as well. The prize is the same for both sides.

I just hope we come out and actually attack them for a change

The last two away games there we parked the bus

Don't forget scoring first benefits us as it takes the crowd out of it and gives us the bit between the teeth and something to hold on to

Not to mention it also ramps up the pressure on them going behind as they away v Saudis last game who will also be up for it if the Japs don't qualify tonight

They not going to want to be in that position next Tuesday

Not only that, but they will be expected to attack with greater impetus if we go ahead, leaving them open on the counter - something we've manage to utilise quite well.

Losing or drawing has no benefit to them anyway tonight

Either result and they still need a draw in Saudi Arabia at the minimum

So can't see them going ting tong crazy with it if we got the lead

OK. I was thinking because a draw/loss doesn't effect them then why not go all-out? Beacause even with a loss/draw the goals difference won't come into account because both Saudi Arabia and Japan can't end on the same points.

It also may mean if we 1-0 up and time ticking away and it looking unlikely they going to get the win Honda Kagawa etc get hooked to save their legs for Saudi game

Even if they going to throw caution to the wind it only going to be the last 15-20 mins anyway

Going down 1-0 in the first half ain't going to see them playing ridiculous gambles until the end anyway

On another note what the starting line up going to be is more of a concern

To me lazy ****s like Mooy and Rogic need benching for this game

**** creativity just kick the shit out of them in midfield with Milligan Luongo and Irvine chopping everything in sight

You cant ingore Mooy's and Rogic's early season form. But we cant only play one of them and need to pick some runners and hard workers around them

The Japs playing for a draw??

They putting us under little pressure with the ball

Rather bizarre tactics when at home with what's at stake etc
