No. But I avoided them as a young bloke as well Stanny - not my thing - would much prefer a more intimate setting like a pub / small theatre.
The bands hate these events and when people don't enjoy what they are doing - their performances usually suffer because of it.

But for $200 you could probably go see 3 side shows of the band's you want to see on better stages?

That'ss what I used to do when BDO went above $120 per ticket. 3 X $40 side shows was a better investment IMO.

Those Download tickets make Splendor look reasonably priced. That's a worry.

Actually I just checked, and...

A) the side shows aren't even in Sydney. Download must demand exclusivity in their contracts.

B) the tickets for Deftones are $100, which is also ridiculous. So you'd only get 2 sideshows.

Thankfully I've seen all the bands on that lineup that I like in their prime. So I'll save my money. But I feel for any kids coming through wanting to see live music. Gotta take out a personal loan just to go see a few bands.
