lakes u16s dev team looking for a GK
Lakes under 16s girls development squad are looking for a goalkeeper - train 3 nights a week in the new year (2 nights at the moment) in with the 15s and 17s NPL squads often, opportunity likely to play NPL if required as injury replacement but would be aiming for NPL the season after (u17s or 15s if u14 this year), have had trial games already against under 17s NPL squad and will likely have girls move into the 17s NPL squad as some 17s have already gone into ressies team. Will play div A inter district but likely at least one or two ages up (u17 / u18, or women's depending on how the competition forms). We do have some under 14s (13yo this year) in the team, so open to younger girls who are interested in developing and at the right skill level. The girls are registered as part of the NPL senior club - not part of the junior club.
there is a trial against SD raiders as our last game before the Christmas break on the 15th. My daughter is 13 and in this squad and has just come across after spending almost a month at the mariners trialling - missed out due to preference to take a local in the younger age groups, so there are some handy players in the squad. The fees are on par with other NPL clubs and they have at least one night a week guaranteed at Speers.
Happy to answer any reasonable questions - but I'm not going to turn this into a debate, there's lots of girls that want to play football now and limited opportunities for them. there is an opportunity here for a goalkeeper that may have missed out with the gap in age groups in WNPL.
Please don't turn this into a 50 page rant about development squads and NPL, just if you know someone who might be keen comment or send me a PM and I'll send your details to the club.
