The good ol Bypass Cup remains with Garden Suburbs after today's matches.
Res: GS 8-0 CCB
1st: GS 4-2 CCB

A tough day for reserves, they should've been at least a goal up, hitting the bar twice and having one cleared off the line after rounding the keeper, but trailed 1-0 at ht.
The second half was about fitness, and we had 1 sub, compared to their 7.
They're fresher legs walked over us in patches in the second half in sweltering conditions.
The scoreline was flattering, but a fair reflection of how much we faded in our first run of the season.

1st grade was a much tighter affair, with suburbs taking the lead courtesy of our keeper being as good as dead. He literally let a shot go past him, which hit the post, before the rebound was hammered home.
He was asked to start in goals after having a busy day in reserves, and also being kicked in the head.
He was subbed off after about 10 minutes, and we came back to lead 2-1 shortly before halftime, before a defensive howler gifted them an equaliser, 2-2 at ht.
Second half was even, but 2 quick suburbs goals courtesy of some more dreadful defending, including a stupid penalty, gave them a 4-2 lead, and both sides huffed and puffed without really testing either keeper.

A good hitout, played in the right spirit, and the boys more than held their own for large periods, however were punished for silly mistakes.
