I'll be impressed if the wind can do anything, Fridge would have a better chance of using a shammie to get rid of the water.

It's been bucketing down a shitload at the burb, top field may be playable.

Wallsend v N-Bay will be a solid game. I hear the bay have some quality players and know how to play the ball around.

    Wallsend v NBay
    1st 2-1
shitti scoreboard doesnt show lowers, can display a field of greyhounds though
Game was fairly even however Wallsend edged it on fitness and a bit quicker in their passing.

Bay travelled to the gardens today
    3rds 3-0 Wallsend (I think)
    Res 2-1 bay
Firsts 2-1 Wallsend fairly even match, bay nearly jagged a point at the end..

Good to get on that's for sure.. Kudos to groundskeeper willy for having the pitch in fair order considering the rain that's been had

That 3rds score is correct i think (didnt see it all).

And since there seems to be an element of 'the dark horse' to this Nelsons Bay first grade side - illl fill in a couple of gaps.
Coming up against them - be prepared for a physically demanding match. They play an old brand of football that relies on muscles and strength on the ball, and can be dangerous with the deep long ball into the area (something that will not be a problem for suburbs, with goliath at the back).
Ive read previously that theyve had success with wide, overlapping players. Could have just been Wallsend defensive efforts, but this didnt seem the case today. Most attacking chances came, as said before, from long balls to back stick to the big men up front who will look to angle their efforts back across the goal.

I think the biggest point though - is prepare to be kicked and thumped around. Speed and fitness will be your two main assets.

Nice analysis Amishpanda.. Although I'm offended by the "goliath" reference.. hahaha

haha, you can rest assured that we at Wallsend are searching far and wide for a 'David' to match against you up front.

Failing that, we will probably just recruit Suarez after his recent fall from grace - who will attempt to just eat you alive.

    Edit: Spelling

Glad to see someone got on this weekend how did the field hold up after 3 games and how is it looking? I know the far side gets pretty boggy after a bit of water it's always good to play at the Gardens

The ground held up real good after all 3 games, it was mostly dry and only wet in a couple or patches on the far side. Yeah we did move the pitch about 5 metres closer to the grandstand to get out of the boggy track on the far side, hopefully we will get less games washed out now.

Correct. We have also not been training on the pitch the last week. Hopefully we stay off of it all of this week to give it a chance to recover.

I did see a NB player kicking a clump of grass/dirt off the pitch that he had just uprooted in a challenge - a sizeable chunk - and for some reason it really annoyed me. FFS - its one of the better pitches youll play on this season. Replace your divets and help us look after it/keep it that way.
