Let me spell it out for you: Most reasonable and rational liverpool supporters wanted UCL qualification at the beginning of the season, no-one dreamt we would be in the position we are in now. Which is top of the league with two games to play.
We achieved an automatic Champions League spot with four games to go, while playing some brilliant football with a team that was expected to struggle to break into the top 4 due to the differences in player investment and squad depth.
Anything achieved above this is purely icing.

I posted elsewhere, some people seem to have mistaken belief and hope that we COULD win the league, as that we expected we WOULD win the league. While the loss last night to a classless team worth over 300mil who play for a classless manager who has his team playing a more expensive version of an Allardyce gameplan hurts, it was after an 11 game winning streak. They did what they had to do, and everyone knew thats how they would play, it was up to us to break through. Which we didnt. He did the same thing to Barca ffs and we arent anywhere near that level.

It sucks that we have lost that momentum, but if the final round of the EPL a few seasons ago showed anything - its not over until the final whistle. Whether we win or not, its been a f*cking brilliant season. End of.

You all say Liverpool fans are bad....

Re: the game.
We miss Henderson more than anyone IMO. Suarez has no mojo at the moment. Sterling runs out of puff. Gerrard did well in my opinion. Coutinho goes missing too easily. I had to check he was still on at one stage.
I can't help but think that majority of our conceded goals are mistakes.
That being said, Chelsea had a gameplay and executed. IMO the best thing they did was time waste in the opening 5 minutes as it riled the supporters up and liverpool start to panic when they don't score.

Schwarzer made some crucial saves. Ivanovic had a top game. Chelsea have something we don't have and it's the ability to close out games comfortably. I didn't think we were going to score. Whenever Pool have a lead we always look vulnerable with donkey clearances etc.

I'd now prefer City to win it as opposed to Chelsea as City, liverpool and arsenal all play a better style/more entertaining football.

That being said, I don't think we have choked either. It was our first loss in the calendar year so I guess in some ways inevitable, but I agree that we should have ensured we got something out of it.
Some sense. Thank you
