Watched him at training today. He looked alright to me without setting the world alight. Good at maintaining possession and pretty aggressive in the tackle. Looked lost at times but that's understandable as he only been there a couple of days and there wasn't really a lot of cohesion between any of them out there.Originally Posted by joel31

I feel for Neville as a lot of the time he was in acres of space but largely ignored as it seemed the left side of Steele and carney was preferred.
Jeronimo looked sharpe and big edson looked frustrated as he barely touched the ball as session. 4 players to impress me were pepper, welsh, cowburn and youngest kanta. Pepper looks like he'll start the season in the middle. He played some impressive balls forward and broke up play easily. He and youngest kanta looked like a good midfield partnership for the future.
Oh and griff sat out most of session with ice on his groin. Didn't seem too worried so hopefully just a strain.
Rumours around that since Heskey left griff gas gone back to having the largest in the squad, and Kew and Edson are not happy. Ice is clearly griffo's way of reducing size and thus restoring team harmony.

Why don't they hand out the 24 jersey? I don't think we had one last year either.
Because it's a 23 man squad? I imagine 24 and beyond would be used for any injury replacements... or non HAL NYL players who get called up to senior squad.

I'm trying to add more data to the Jets records I've got, particularly around the captain of each match. Now, I know who was the captain for each season but I am going to need some help filling in the gaps when said captain was suspended or injured. I haven't got a list of specific games as yet but am working on it.
Can people please give me a hand by posting some info? I'm up to date with Season 1, 9. What I know:
Season 2 Okon. He didn't play every game but I don't know those specific ones yet. need to know fill in.
Season 3 North. He didn't play every game but I don't know those specific ones yet. need to know fill in.
Season 4. North
Season 5 Thompson?
Season 6
Season 7
Season 8 - Zads?
I know Bridges and Wheelhouse are in there somewhere too. Was Ryan Griffiths too? It's all blurring into one...

If I am right Jobe was appointed captain prior to Season 7 and was given the gig under Culina the year Tinks fired him on season start
He held the gig for about a season and a half before he packed it in and Zads took over from that date
Around season 4-5 we had some system where the bloke who had played the most for the club was captain so it was either Thompson or Elrich
Season 5-6 was a spell where it was Bridges on the occasions he was fit and Ljubo the rest of the time.
Might be out a little on time frames but that will help your cause
