I doubt any other club in the league would take him if we offered him up.

    2. Perth were poor. Jets were poor. Not much else to carry on about,

    3. Castro was out of the game by 30 mins. Thought Johnny K did as well as anyone on him. Yep he popped up for the goal. but in games past he has owned us, today didnt think he was anything special.

    4. The big man up front got through some work. Chased, ran, closed down, attacked. My goodness what a world we could live in seeing Wessi look after him. Made so may clever decisions on the ball, when to play through when t hold up. think hes a real clever player. he has no help at the moment.

    5. Ugabooga is still our best player and its not even close. Id rather a bloke fail trying something than fail by being nothing. Ugabooga plays forward, he attacks, he wants to get goals. it doesnt always come off, but no one else on that team even bothers to try.

    6. Dimi gets himself into space a lot i dont think his teammates know where he is though. might be something to look into at training.

    7. When you have a man advantage the opposition coach usually picks a player you are ok with leaving the ball with. there is nothing more embarrassing in football than being the bloke that the opposition coach doesnt worry about. tonight that was Miller and he proved Popovic right. bloke was the weakest link on that team. my goodness the last 15 mins from him were horrible.

    8. Active was good, crowd was poor. Gypo CEO needs to get to work.
    5 Your points on Sugar

What he got now 3 goals in 5 years here so he ain't much use in front of goal

My main issue is he constantly fails to do his job as a DM

We conceeded so much possession and territory in that game down to our midfield not controlling the game
The bloke is constantly exposed as not being anything without Kanta by his side

This constantly keeps happening with this bloke yet people still want to sing his praises

What exactly great did he do yesterday besides have our side playing on the counter getting put under defensive pressure from minute 1 and keeping our attackers running around chasing the opposition all day??

If that is considered a good performance from him then got help us as it made his teammates jobs infinitely harder

I think Ridenton has a great football brain but lacks the level of technical ability to pull off some of the things he tries. There were times last night where he had the ball, turned and you could clearly see him SEE the play unfolding and attempt a pass... which then went to Perth.

Watching the game again, not sure how anyone can say we played poorly. Disappointed with the result? Absolutely. But our movement especially up front & with Uga pushing through from our half was outstanding.

It Farken peeves me no end when people just hang shit on players/coach/club because it’s the in thing to do, rather than assessing each player without a preconceived idea on how they’ll play. Ridenton & JK had one of the hardest tasks in the league last night restricting Castro & CI, both put in a shift & did a solid job. 1 goal conceded from a goal mouth scramble against that forward line is a terrific result.

Up front, every positive movement forward came through Fitz channel. Should of had a penalty. Links well with Dimi & Arroyo & gets behind the line as good as anyone. Finishing needs to improve but I also don’t think any were gimmes.

Great involvement from Arroyo, Uga was terrific, Moss pulled off a couple of tremendous saves also. Backline was solid.

I enjoyed watching us play yesterday. I don’t think we’re too far off.

So who plays striker now the one we found is not available next week?

JK is a fine MF and serviceable CB....he is not a LB. I don't want to see the kid ruined.

He shut down one of the most talented players in the league. He's definitely not getting ruined right now, hes getting valuable game time.

I can see him being another Nick Cowburn. And that is the second time this season he has been caught out by a diagonal over his head to someone tracking behind. This led to the scramble and goal.

He did same against Roar last season and if he is staying there is a fault that needs to be fixed. True his overall game was better yesterday.

That is also a reflection on the poor coaching is Oz

They treat Fullback as an after thought and just dump any guy in there

GVE done it with Matt Thompson and Dappuzzo

Arnie does it with Blue Aids and now Socceroos picking Zullo and Rhyan Grant etc

We have had Hoffman Lachlan Jackson Cowburn Brillante Pepper etc play there over the years also

It is a specialist role and influences your attack and defence

Look at how much the Scousers get out of Robertson and Alexander Arnold in both attack and defence in their success of late

I actually think his failings as a left back, goal keeper, right winger and striker are why we are poor.

not sure how much they went on about it on the telly, but that push in the 1st half was certainly a thing wasnt it.

as much as i thought it was a foul and therefore a pen, it would have been pretty soft.

having said that im glad it wasnt overturned by VAR.
am happy for the ref to rule on it and move on. but geez i feel we are owed a tonne of these ones.

Stu - 3 goals in 58 games for the Jets.
Ugabooga - 3 goals in 55 games for the Jets.

    The second coming indeed................

I thought it was as clear a penalty as they come. Fitz won the tussle, got front position & clearly got pushed in the back by a much bigger man. He fell sideways, you can’t dive at a right angle when running at pace mid stride & off balance. 95% of players let Grant deal with the ball & boot it into the stands without a challenge. He fought for it & should of won us a penalty outta nothing. The only question mark was whether there was a foul in the lead up but they gave a goal kick if I remember correctly, so they didn’t think so.

Also forgot to mention in the earlier post how good Jackson was returning. Top game.
