Western Stand holds 11000 and was more than three quarters full. Griffiths Stand holds 13000 and was 95% full.
The stadium has a capacity of 30000 and you are telling me it was only half full?
Someone has pocketed a large sum of money.....a joke.
The pitch didn't look like a good return on $1.5 million either.
I'm seeing a crowd figure of 22,412 on some places on the net including Wikipedia....something odd is going on.
Looked a bit patchy tbh. All grass, but not a smooth carpet you'd expect.
On another note, does anyone know if Rebel or anyone in Newy stock any asian team jerseys? Was hoping to pick a Japanese one at the game but they didn't have any in ground.
Middleby Gone
Lawrie Out
Not sure my ticket was properly scan when entering the venue (not usual turnstile used but "kids" with manual scanners) Others inside venue reckons same thing ???!!! So possible source to explain discrepancy in numbers and visual estimation.... Definitely 20K minimum........

I can't think of any sensible reasons that you would down grade it.
Would the stadium of AFC have been in charge of the count?
If that was only 3k more than usual than why were queues more than 10 times the length?
Wow cannot believe I missed the first 7 minutes of this game
Luckily caught the first goal. Glad they opened the hills up aswell. Kudos to Palestine especially in the second half thought they put in a very gusty performance & massive kudos to their fans pretty much sung, chanted & danced for the 90 minutes even though it was mainly p-p Palestine.
P.s Bodi hope you enjoyed that cider I shouted ya
Regarding ticket numbers, I made a decision sunday afternoon to go (only planned on tonights game, semi and 3 v 4) and the tickets I purchased were PAX 17038-17042...definitely looked like at least 20k
While I loved the crowd, and loved the general Newy public getting behind the game and all that - I can't agree with this line. There were so many Japanese and Palestinian fans there - I wouldn't say they were unharnassed Newy fans as much as just their to see their team. There was also a heap of CCM, SFC and other club jerseys scouted in the place.
Saturday will be a better test of how much the newy public has taken to it - two teams that aren't necessarily draw-cards, yet on a Saturday night.
OK
And Saturday night kick off time is the same time as Socceroos v Korea, so I can't see them cracking more than 5-6k on Saturday
Lulz at the 'we are all Palestine' flag.
Fat lads in the blowup sumo suits on the family hill.
Also a Mong in a Gypos shirt getting grief from the locals.
Good times.
