Back in that young world cup (or whatever it was) that Hoole, DDS, etc played in (the one that Hoole did that great assist), I thought Maclaren was the standout striker. We also used Taggz and Gameiro in that tournament, so I remember thinking it was a big deal that I rated Maclaren so much higher.
    OK

Maclaren I think needs a move so he can take that next step. He can come to us and be one of the main men, sort of like the opportunity Taggart took.

After sitting through hours of WHS bullsh!t yesterday (and currently am now), I would say it goes more under a "grievance" than bullying.. Apparently there is a difference, but I've been drifting in and out of the real world while this monotonous bollocks goes on..

He was the first choice striker for Perth last season and he was quite poor.

Yes Perth were pretty terrible but I recall McLaren being especially bad.

From what I've seen this year he's only really scored from set-pieces or simple goals late on against a tiring defence.

    Agree with this.
Plus to be fair Perth are playing pretty stinky football this year.

Fair bit of hoofing, set pieces and Rubes smokers getting them results they prob don't deserve.

Don't like watching them much at all and the good teams seem to have worked them out.

    Agreed.

Perth are absolutely dire, I think they've only won like 1 game in their last 8. The only reason they're so high on the table is they racked up the points early on that good run of theirs.

Can't find enough about him to form an opinion. Apparently trialled with Sydney a few months ago but shitney went with stambolziev instead by the looks of it.

I feel like we have enough young strikers as is that I'd say unless he is unbelievably talented, we just leave it

Good call p-diddy, also seem to remember him being given a decent chance last season and being fairly mediocre.

Would fit in well here, sign him up.

Nah Militia that bloke who butchered 4-5 chances for Wankers on Saturday is a sure fire signing.

Looked like Marko Jesic and played like Jardel

Yes he's almost certainly lacking in service, but his finishing has been woeful and his decision making is pretty shit too. Has missed lots of sitters that a better player would have nailed.

Of course, like all of our players, he'd go alright in a decent team.
    Interesting.

His finishing I'll say is somewhat hit and miss. He's had some great chances that he's fluffed or hit the post a few times.

His decision making though, I can't fault tbh. To me, he's a terrific target man. He bounces off his marker, holds the ball up really well, and when he actually has friends offering him support usually finds a way to find them. Not many players are that strong on the ball in the league IMO, I can think of few ever in the league to be able to hold it up as well as he can.

Look at Alivodic's goal on the weekend - Edson drops between defenders and mids to create space, turns with two men on him, Alivodic is actually making a run to support Edson and Edson manages to get the turn on and thread the pass to him. I feel like these kinds of things would have happened so many more times over the season if we had players actually interested in offering him support. Edson and Mitch Cooper, when played close enough, seem to be forming a great partnership playing each other in.
    OK

Montano couldn't hit the floor with his hat, it would fly off and land in a tree. First plane outa town.

Just because Bridges hung around a season longer than he should have it doesn't negate the good he did beforehand. Bridges brought far more to us then what Montano has done.
