The club was never in a position to sign Hoole so he went to a club where his situation was more secure.
A loss yes but anyone that thinks he's going to be a superstar of the game is having themselves on.
Tinkler took a giant dump on two of Hoole's best mates in the squad, and he lost faith in the club and saw no light at the end of the tunnel so took what was a good offer presented to him.
I genuinely believe he will be a superstar, so I guess I'm having myself on.

Nah, it is more about the fact that anyone who saw him in that GF killing it in the mids knew the Jets had a chance at something especially when they have had no decent kids for ages yet he got put in every other position then prob thought screw it I'm out, then once he was lost they gave him a few games in his best position and he prob played his best football.
Superstar? Dunno, but somehow he stepped up a level and the club made him worse and still have the same holes in the team as when we originally signed him.

I don't think Hoole will ever be as good as Nicky Carle at his peak - and as much as I like Nicky Carle he wasn't a superstar either.
Moreover, if Hoole cares about how his mates are treated then professional sport may not be for him. It's a business. You do whatever you can to get to the top and let nobody stand in your way. Sad but more often than not that's how things work.

Not always I agree with you Plaguey but you are spot on here. He came to the Youth team from Magic as a #10 yet for about the next 18 months he was played predominantly as a RB, where he made his debut for the seniors. Everyone knows the story and I've already repeated it a couple of times myself but who knows we had a talented kid here who had the potential to maybe be our best attacking player since Halpin and the club blew it big time.
If he's a genuine superstar he would have been tearing the NYL up no matter where he played. He didn't.
And I'm not pissing on Hoole either I think he's a talented footballer but he's not a superstar.

Yeah superstar or not the way he was dealt with says way more about the club than it does the player.
You should agree with me more often as you'll find it coincides with you being right more often as well.
Hoole was used in various positions in the Youth team and while capable he did not stand out as being a class above everyone else.
With respect to Messi I totally disagree with you. While he might not have suited the role of a central defender as soon as he started to move forward with the ball or received a pass people would have known he was special.
It still doesn't mean I think the way Hoole was used by the club was fair either. Then again, Hoole is in a long list of players the Jets have tried to play in positions that did not suit them,
GVE for example tried to make a striker out of a defensive midfielder and the kid copped shit from you lot because he couldn't score goals.

all is quiet on player signing news not even the usual rumours of names being thrown around. its kinda boring actually. Discussions are either being done extremely professionally and discreetly or there arnt any discussions at all. Usually some names get mentioned tho but all is quiet zzzzzz
Much more professional that deals are not being leaked before they are actually done (Paartalu anyone?)
Mike Cockerill did put out the rumour last week that the number 10 was a done deal but won't get announced straight away.
I hope that is the case and we are waiting for Visa's etc. to be granted and the guy being on the plane before announcing the signing. Be a nice change than an announcement then waiting 2 months to see if the guy will arrive
May be putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 but I think the new owners will be announced and the new number 10 will be tied in with that, ie not necessarily fitting within the cap.
just post some made up stuff on here, and before you know it you'll be reading about it in the Herald.
