Agree. That stuff should be between the manager and the player. If Miller demands professionalism from his players he needs to lead by example.

What I took from the game was that it re-enforced the fact we have very little depth.

With a few injuries keeping players out, once Leonardo was stretchered off, our midfield went with him. From that point on we had nothing in the middle of the park. Yes Carney was horrible as number 10, but he was only there because of the complete lack of depth. I'm not sure how long term all the injuries we have are, but until we get players back on the park, it could be very ugly.

With the players all fit, we look like we will be there at the pointy end of the season.

I did think Cowburn looked very positive though when he came on though, its about all I took from the night.

Hopefully Leonardo isn't gone for too long. Not sure what was worse, the mariners fans booing him as he was stretchered off, or the mariners twitter account calling the tackle soft. McGing should be suspended for the term of the injury if he has put Leonardo out long term.

-Milos is so shit but he always manages to do one good thing and then score.
-How come we defend crosses solidly for 90 minutes and let a goal in like that? I reckon if Boogard wasnt in the way then Birraz would have got to it
-Also we gave the ball away cheaply so many times yesterday it was ridiculous.
-It's clear that Rad is not at A-League level (on the wing anyway I thought he was decent last season) so the only youth player coming up and performing is Cowburn

I reckon we will finish 7th, not enough depth or quality to make the 6

thought the same thing. Brought some spice into the derby that I thought would make it a good game. The Jets had other ideas

Thought overall, Jackson had a solid game, enough to think that Mullen may struggle to get back in. Watson worries me greatly, and we needed to have Cooper on the bench. Didn't see the point of Pav and Lundy both on the bench tbh.

Yep Watson is a pathetic footballer. Half the NBN sides would not even have him warming the pine.

That's a bit harsh suggesting half the NBN sides selectors are shit.

I agree, Jackson has been solid every time he has come on. Our backline for the most part was solid last night.

The mids were far from solid after the send off.

Watson did nothing for me, Cowburn was much better when he came on and actually looked positive.

We need cooper, Kanta and Leonardo back. Gives us a solid midfield and some options on the bench that we are lacking at the moment.

but we arent going down this road here...

Jackson did ok for mine, Boogs wasnt his normal self and appear to have sympathies for the scum. explain before we start knee capping, boogs

Miller was terrible in that he didnt have team up for it. Wish I could face slap him. there is never a warm game for this.

Why didn't carney stay and play pav as second striker, you don't always need to play with a 10, Miller was out coached yesterday

Just watching the replay - Okon on commentary openly questioning whether McGing deserved Red for the challenge on Leo. He's on some serious meds

    Nothing like the Muppet.
whist i have no doubt he said all the right things pre season, the first sign of pressure, after 2 home losses and the worst performance so far against 10 men in a derby, he immediately throws his striker under the bus.

last time i looked he has 3 subs, if he doesn't like what he sees, he drags the offenders and goes to plan B.
Miller did nothing of the sort.

then he went and blamed the players.

not the best way to deal with it imho.

I would have preferred we went down to ten men too. Thin air is more useful than Hoffman is to our team.

Why Cooper wasn't on the bench?
    Dare to Zlatan

That's a fair question as he was out there in the warm-up as the "spare" man in case of an injury during the warm-up so he obviously wasn't injured.

Going on what we've seen so far this season Miller only likes to use two subs, so once Cowburn went on for Watson the chances for Lundy or Pawiak to come on were virtually nil unless someone else got injured.

As I said earlier, I don't see the point of having both Lundy and Pav on the bench together, don't they essentially play in the same positions?

I thought Pavicevic was either a striker or attacking mid while Lundy is a winger. Pavicevic didnt look very comfortable on the wing yesterday

Lundy can play left or right wing. The yoof have on occasions played him as striker but that isn't his position and more a case of a lack of options in the yoof

Pavicevic is a striker. He has played a bit in the yoof on the wing but only as he wasn't deemed good enough for the striker role behind Kale and Crowley
