Starting to think that the signing of Ugarkovic is a sign that Miller feels he just does not have enough quality in the middle of the park. Especially after todays performance against a poor Nix side it's apparent we do not have a leader/dominant player to dictate the game. Half-way through the season I think it's fair to say that Kanta, Poljak and Watson are below average to average midfielders who would struggle to make just about any other first XI side in the A League. I thought Kanta early on in the season had turned the corner but once again he has had a brain explosion in a game with a rash, un-called for challenge. Poljak has been one of our better players in some games but like today he can very poor as well, lacking consistency. Watson has had enough chances to impress but appears to have dropped below youngster Cowburn in the pecking order.
Will be interesting to see what Ugarkovic offers to the side but we cannot carry 3-4 average midfielders in the squad for another season.
I would be quite happy to see the back of Watson
Kanta should get dropped in favor of Poljak and Cowburn. If he doesn't pull his socks up, he can go at end of season. He has probably been around the club too long and needs a fresh challenge.

Kanta needed to leave the Jets 2 seasons ago. To comfortable here. Needs a new challenge if he's to improve
Probably would benefit Kanta more by seeking a new challenge next season to get his career on track.
I can see us though trying to resign him though.
Local versatile 100 plus games and all that shit.
If we are gonna do so lets make sure we actually don't get screwed over paying him and offer him market value.
I can't see a long list of suitors trying to over pay him so why should we???
I don't ever want to see Watson in our strip again, bloke is a donkey of monumental proportions.
Carney brings up the Qatar offer today then says nothing yet from the Jets. Looked like an obvious ploy with the timing straight after a MOM performance. So some agent games over the next fortnight.
Have to be cynical.....
We definitely need to get rid of some of our midfielders in a big way.
Watson has to go, without a doubt
Kanta I feel should go, although it seems a waste to have invested so much into him. But, I feel thats the reason to let him go as we have invested so much, and it hasn't payed off. He's on a lot of coin and could do with a fresh start. More then likely, in most teams he wouldn't see starting football and wouldn't be on as much coin which would be a good wake up call for him.
From a perspective of quality, I think Poljak offers more and can have better games then Kanta. Cowburn looks to be the goods and if Ugarkovic is the same then we'd have two good youngsters in the midfield battling it out for some starting football with either partnering Poljak.
Other thing we gotta look at is the amount of young dudes we have playing attacking positions and which one of them is worth keeping a hold of. We can't invest in Pav, Lundy, Crowley, Kitto and Brennan all at once and realistically need to figure out which ones are worth the time and which ones are worth going elsewhere, as well as having Baressi and Cooper playing attacking mid as well.
Keep Kanta, as long as we get a new owner and his somewhat large wage can be part moved outside the cap into the home grown category. Same with BK.
I agree with regards to keeping him but I think he should be on market value, which I am positive would be less than what he is currently earning. Same with BK, on the open market he would not get near 100k and at would not get a start at any other club, so we need to either re sign them on market value reduced terms or let them go

Carney is great when the team is going well and there is space for him to attack and set up attacks but when were not playing well or attacking very well I.E last 8 weeks or so and the team is struggling to defend Carney gets found out in a big way. Kanta is solid but for a guy who has been at the club for years and had potential he hasnt really gotten any better than he was back then. I agree he has been one of our best this year but we have been coming second last so that doesnt count for much. (i know he has had injuries.) As for BK he has been a loyal servant and has saved our ass as many times as birraz has but birraz is on some god pedastool and can do no wrong where as BK is blamed for every loss we have when he is in goal. also feel that baresi should leave and brennan radovan crowley lundy need at least 5 weeks in a row starting to see if they will make it or not
Yep
The bloke may have some talent but he is lazy lacks discipline and sets a bad example for the younger players as a senior player in the squad.
Considering the coin he is on he should be contributing much more.
You can carry a bloke like Del Piero in a side when he don't run in defence as his skill set with the ball is class
Carney is no ADP.
What is his excuse for walking most of the game??
What is his excuse for not tracking back when we lose the ball??
What is his excuse for pulling out of tackles??
For the coin he is on he is not giving us value for money
