You can still call out single fields. The thing is, you have to make the call on grounds prior to the cut off for cancelation of games. If the fields look dicey, you have to make a call. If it dries out ofter that, not much you can do. Same when as happened last year to us, it pisses down rain after the call is made and the pitch gets trashed.
But if the club calls game on the ref can then call it off if it does hore down just before the game.

Has a ref recently been bothered to call off or do they always seem to play on?
